Will the 15K mintage limit cause a Buchanan's Liberty sellout???
Even though the last two First Spouse Liberties didn't reach 15,000 in total combined mintages, do you think the recently announced First Spouse gold mintage limits of 15,000 across both proof and Unc might raise demand enough to cause a sellout?

I like the original design, but I feel that it is too cluttered on the FS coin:
<< <i>There are no household order limits for the 2010 First Spouse Series One-Half Ounce Gold Coins. >>
might not be a problem now...
but
Lincoln... Kennedy....

But who knows?

<< <i>It won't be released until September, but they just announced the new mintage limits a couple days ago. A lot can happen between now and then (POG for instance), but I think the psychology of the new lower limit, plus no household limits, may cause the Buchanan Liberty to sellout pretty fast - JMHO >>
I could see it. Human nature and "there's a limited number available" psychology favors that possibility.
Box of 20
To answer the question, I'm not sure. I think the possibility is there, but seeing as there was a sale of 7806 proofs and 4754 uncs (total of 12,560) for Jackson's Liberty and 7515 proofs 4334 uncs (11,849 total) for van Buren's that are still only 5/6 of the new maximum mintage, I think it's unlikely. I will be purchasing the coin to complete what I've termed the "short set" for this series of Liberties, and that's it for me.
I've the other 3 and I'm happy with them, and I'm looking forward to adding this one. I think the reverse ranks about the same as van Buren's liberty, in how much I like it, with Jackson coming in second and Jefferson 3rd.

Like others have mentioned, the last two Liberty examples didn't come close to 15,000 so I wouldn't expect the new mintage cap to be a real factor. I see a lot of people claiming that the Mary Todd Lincoln coin will bring in new collectors to the series... I just don't buy that for a second. Why would people all of the sudden want that coin?? Just because she was married to Abe Lincoln?? I collect a lot of different Lincoln coins, but I would never buy a coin just because it had his wife on it. I can sort of see the argument that folks might want a Jackie Kennedy coin because she has a collecor's following of her own, but Mrs. Lincoln???? I wouldn't bet on it unless Abe is on the reverse

Unlike my recent ordering experiences in at least a year or more....
the Fillmore First Spouse coins immediately showed "in stock and reserved" instead of the usual "backordered."
They went into "hold" that day and had cancel boxes.
Later this evening (day #2) the order status changed to "processing" ((from hold)) and the cancel boxes are gone.
So, things are moving much faster so far than they have in the past.
(usually it'd take 1-2 weeks to ship after about that much time on a combination of "hold" and waiting for them to come off "backorder")
no.
Just for tose that don't order from the mint that often and may be dreading the experience with the Liberty &/or Lincoln First Spouses...
I was taking my kid to school otherwise I would have my shipment today.... possible receipt 5 days after ordering...
The take away: things are better with ordering from the mint.
