UK Coin Auction 18th March GONE TO THE MOON
Will price keep rising? Prices are 4-5 times estimates
What do we have to look forward to?
What is your opinion on British prices,
Have prices been to cheap for tooooo long?,
Are they peaking?
Example a rare Philip & Mary Shilling sold today at 100 times the prices of 1952, the condition HORRIBLE as even the British Museum speciman is terrible.
An Elizabeth 6d estinate was 4+ times the estimate

I agree British coins are heating up and there were some good results at the recent DNW but quite a few were within and some were below estimates:
http://www.dnw.co.uk/coins/auctionarchive/searchcataloguearchive/results.lasso?grouping=&description=&date=17+Mar+10&lot=&action=Search
and to be honest I'm pretty sure the auctioneers usually place low estimates on lots as a "come get me" to the buyers.
£4700 hammer for a "bright appearance Chas II crown"
£900 hammer for a NVF Charles II 3rd issue 1/-
£2000 for a gFine Commonwealth anchor shilling albeit on a huge flan.
These are pretty mind-boggling prices.
Well, just Love coins, period.

it will better for the family if they just put me away in home and make sure i cannot bid for coins, they should let me out of
captivity to go fishing twice a week under supervision of armed guards who will shoot to kill if i speak to anybody.
go shopping twice a week between 2100-0300 in the morning. take away my mobile.
can anyone advice what are the proceedures for bancrupsy caused by obsesive money buying, the trustee in bancrupsy
will want to know why anybody would by a coin at 120'000 times face value unless it was to de-fraud yourself.

I did hear on the grapevine that you got the one you wanted today. Well done.
<< <i>Unfortunately British prices have been rising uncontrollably for the past 6-12 months. I believe they are presently "fully" valued. >>
Nae, high-end mint state coins are just getting started, IMHO. My feelings are you can either get a second job, and "battle it out", or hide behind mum's skirt.
BTW, SwK; there are innumerable U.S. coins which are over 1000x what they were in 1952......................looks like British stuff has at least 500% more to go on the way to PLUTO....................... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are all in Mac's rolls in his personal bank vault.
Quality Sells

I don't know Jeff but I think I may have the same problem or condition.
Luckily for me my wife turns a blind eye when it comes to my obsession but I should stop looking on auction sites or at coin catalogues for a while, or the guys in the white coats might be coming for me next.

Or rather satisfy the consigners. It's a win win for the auctioneers.
<< <i>Two words:
Quality Sells >>
It doesn't come cheap to buy quality either. Correct timing,(both in buying and selling), choice of the material and patience are essential for good returns.
