Took a dive into early copper... how'd I do?
No returns accepted, so it's kinda a gamble. But the piece looks very respectable. The last two PCGS XF40s sold for about $2k on Heritage. I think the white speckles on the obverse closeup are a glare from some flecks on the holder, not the coin.
I'm very new to early copper. Is this an S-270? Is it, generally speaking, an attractive piece?

Are you hoping it will cross? I like those early ANACS holders and have been lucky moving them to PCGS.

<< <i>Nice, Will! Looks terrific. Bill Jones might be able to answer your question.

If I think it will stay XF45, I'll try it with PCGS. If I think it would downgrade, I might leave it as ANACS XF45.

Yes, it is an S-270, the only variety of the year.
As a variety, it's common, but since it is the only
variety of the year, it's considered scarce as a
date.
I think I read the the cent press broke down
early in 1806, which would account for the fact
that there is only one variety for the year.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I knew it would happen.

the pictures kind of give the coin a little "glow" but Im guessing its just the pictures.
otherwise the coin does look quite nice.
