Very nice - and if you paid around or under the $270 marked on the holder, you got a good value to boot!

Did you buy that coin for either $270 or $400. Regardless, it was a great buy.

Maybe next year - if Shannon agrees to it - we can go to a Photography Class together.

I have the coin in hand right now, I might give it back if you're lucky, Brandon. At the show, we saw it and knew one of us was going to take it home. It has the circ cameo look to it and looks solid for the grade assigned on the holder. Of course I don't grade walkers (or oregons) very often.

    Nice!
It's a coin to be proud to own. And I suspect the tar specks will come off.
    When in doubt, don't.

That is a heck of a buy for 270.00 most shows I go to they are all cleaned and problem coins, over graded etc, yet overpriced!!

That's a great, original coin!! Is that a little folder residue on the eagle's wing, or just some dark tone? If residue, an acetone soak will take it off. Nice buy!

    Sweet coin!! Nice pick-up.

I spent $400 on the coin and enjoy the look the of it. I didn't want to change the coin in any way
because I loved the look of it so no acetone. I used the quarterly special to send it in knowing that
you can't get a + in lower grades. Do you think it graded?

It's quite lovely as is and I would like very much to know what PCGS had to say about the piece.

If it grades, I think it would grade F15. If it did not grade, then it probably did not due to environmental damage or an added mint mark. It looks good to me though. I would have no problem adding that to my Dansco and getting my AG one replaced. image

I have never seen that coin correctly graded for sale.

No way did it sell for $270 even $400 is a good price.
  • bfjohnsonbfjohnson Posts: 541 ✭✭✭
I was hoping for a fine 12 or outside 15 grade. It got a F12 and I agree. This is
one coin that I had a hard time deciding whether to try to remove the specks on
the wing or not. My bro said to leave as is and I'm glad I did.

Congratulations. Very nice obverse -- clean right field, even wear. Enjoy it.
