Cud or Clashed rims....

Normally a cud starts and ends at a certain point on a coin. This one has an easy to see start point but it peters out by the 2 in the date. Coin is AU58+ so I'm not sure if it's just wear. Coin was made with a rusted die and has some severe MD as well.... Thoughts.

    It appears to be a rim cud. It happens when the rim gutter of the die breaks off.

    Here is a cud for comparison. I am with Stone on this one. (Rims don't clash unless it is with the collar, and in the case of a Peace dollar, the swag is smoothly tapered).

    Yeah, the second Peace looks cuddly.

    Actually, they do look quite similar to each other. Are these unknown as of yet, or has LVA already made a call on them?

    I used to own this one it was ANACS MS64.
