Define ripped. IMHO, unless it's a 67 or better, it ain't worth much more than melt.

I saw it and once it went above the $100 mark, I was no longer interested.
I had bids on it up to around $70ish, if I recall, last night.
It looks nice in the picture, but I am not into just buy/flip, nor do I want to just get the same date/MM all the time.
We already have this one, nicely toned, and in a higher grade, so it wasn't worth it to me.

Glad you like it and consider it a rip

i got this MS66 from T.T couple of months back @100$ as well - pretty similar coins !

Yep, similar enough, for a date I don't see toned that way much, to make me wonder.....

In my book that's a $15-$20 coin on a very generous day.

Yeah, but Wei, you don't play in the toner arena, right?
In my book, I would go $40-$50 for it but got caught up on it to the $70ish (I figured that's one extra blackjack hand).

Although I'm no Gregg Bingham or Sunnywood, I do handle a decent number of toned coins, especially Morgan dollars. Though currently I only have a little less than a dozen nicely toned dollars (I mean the beautiful rainbow toned variety, not the stuff that can be mistaken for rust or the ugly stuff that only an owner could appreciate) on hand.

I don't usually offer many rainbow toned coins for sale outright as I prefer to consign them to auctions like Teletrade. In any given Teletrade auction many of the toners are from my consignments.

I'd say based on the various posts in this thread that I agree with the thread title. Some buyers are happy, some sellers are happy, some guys are in the middle and some think the coins are selling for more than they are worth. This is a place that seems to be satisfying a lot of people when other markets might not. --Jerry

So, Wei, to help you save on TT fees, when you get coins like in the OP, I'll pop ya that $15-$25 for them, ok?
No fees. Heck, on some of them, I may even go $25 image

I have several Morgan Dollars with equally vibrant toning on one side, each of which I bought for less than the price of the OP's dime. So I can rationalize that I paid for the color and got 10 times more silver for free. Right?

I was watching that '64 and was going to bid around $40-45. Surprised it sold for $100 actually.

Go bid like everybody else does. Never mind the fee issue.

You're beginning to remind me of one particular lowballing cheapskate forum member who loiters on the BST forum.
