Does it really look that way in hand? Too much color for me but it sure is
a wonderful coin. GOD OUR TRUST is nice, but I do like the final version better!

this is with Axial lighting, not head on. Head on it looks like your average Seated half struck in copper image

actually looking at the coin more closely the picture still looks worse than the actual color on the coin.

Looks like a pretty decent coin, but it sure looks like a heck of a lot of effort has to into trying to take a decent image of it. That usually means the coins only looks nice when it's held in one specific angle and under intense lighting. Otherwise, it's not attractive. Of course I could be wrong but that has been my experience when first viewing a coin's image like this and then seeing the actual coin.

Because his images still don't capture the coin accurately IMO

to be honest, i doubt that the coin really looks like either set of pictures.

I appreciate your honesty, but the coin actually looks like MG's images. Of course, I have seen it in hand, so am at a slight advantage over you in this case.

The problem with those images, is that they completely and entirely lack any sort of luster whatsoever. So I doubt those images are a true representation of the coin. Unless ofcourse the coin has absolutely no luster which would certainly not be a good thing with that color.

Isn't the pattern a brilliant proof? If so, I would expect little if any luster. Perhaps a different term would be better?

I have seen the coin, and it looks pretty close to the Goodman/CRO shot.

Mark's photos don't depict the reflectivity of the proof surfaces. I wouldn't be surprised if the memories of those who have seen the coin fill in that missing quality.
