....demand relief as in higher relief. I think many of today's designs would look better if they had little relief like the Buff nickel, Merc dime, or Walker. Just look at the differences between the 1909 cent and its redux, albeit shallow, 2010 cent. Compare a 1964 JFK to today's half, the '64 looks similar to a $20 UHR. I want relief.
What would you do as the Director?

I don't think you will get relief....
I would also recommend making ALL current business strike coinage available by the roll or bag to my customers which includes collectors. I would NEVER say that the Federal Reserve was "it's (The US Mint's) only customer" as stated in the open forum held recently at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. I'd realize that the money pulled in from the sale of collectible coins is a REAL profit over and above what is distributed to the Federal Reserve Bank.
I'd get an id on the PCGS Message boards!

.....i'd say lee has the right idea.
I would cease production of any coin that metal content plus expenses were more than the face value.

It's like legalizing drugs. Clearly the best way to do away with the surruptitious activity is to just open it up to everyone
