coin shops around Buchanan or Florida New York

Hi all up in the area there and wondering if there is anything to check out in this area. Also I may add who ever named this place Florida had a sick mind. We are knee deep in snow right now. I'm close to New York New York but have been to most of the place's there. If there are any show's up here in the next month let me know I don't know my shifts yet but I can always try to make them.

Thanks Dan

Albany monthly bourse is Sunday March 7. That's the closest show for you in the near future.

Actually the Parsippany show is probably closer than the Albany show, I think Florida is only about an hour or so from Parsippany. In fact, if you're free on Sunday Parsippany is not a bad call at all.

Yes, Parsippany is closer, by about a half hour. I'm in the Poughkeepsie area. There are supposedly two new coin shops on this side of the Hudson. I have yet to visit either but I am a little leary about both of them- one in Fishkill is advertised as a jewelry shop that also has coins. They have a TV commercial but it doesn't look like they have a bad selection. The other is in Hopewell and may have gone out of buisness already.

There is one in Newburgh that I passed one day but I have not gotten back to, and I'm not sure if I could find it again. I have a friend who is not of a fan of the shop though, he used to be a coin collector and before he knew I was into coins, tried to or did sell them to that shop and was unhappy with the offer he recieved. I will stop there if I can find it and have money. They were closed the day I found them.

Thanks for the heads up on Middletown...I have not been over that far since 2008 when going to a race at the Orange County Fair Speedway but I would not mind taking a run over to find that store.

I will try and hit the two new ones soon, but I don't think it will be this month, as all my money for this month is needed for other things (as usual!) Maybe I can square away at least $20 for each and check them out.

Edit: By the way, my family is originally from Peekskill. Some of it still is, and I think even in walking distance of Indian Point.

  • Thanks all will check out the Middletown shop and may try to make it to a show up here. Not a bad area but this drive is going to kill me 12 hours of work and 2 hours of driving each day but it's only for 4 weeks.
