Won't know until I ask..

Just being hypathetical but lets say the President was impeeched because of not being able to prove he is an American citizen. Would that mean any coins he passed into law while in office would be Ilegal to own? Just curious how this would pan out if it ever did happen..

Um what? How would the president have anything to do with coinage? Isn't that the job of Congress?

hypathetical [sic] or even hypothetical the question seems nonsensical to me.

No, because he doesn't sign-off on coin production.

There is only one answer to this question.

No, because he was born in Hawaii in 1961, and thus a natural born American citizen.

What if a president was Imoranged? Or Imappled? image

  • Ok Ok, Im a nut with conspiracy theories myself........ Really bad with them really. But Obama is not going to be impeached for anything. He might be awarded something for nothing, but he wont be impeached.

And like mentioned, he doesnt sign off on our coinage.

Wheres the guy with the tinfoil hat cat?

1- I like the political spin. Clever. Hypotheticals generally do just fine without it.

2- If any president is impeached, they are still president. Impeachments is merely the beginning process to remove someone from office.

3- Laws signed while a president is sitting are laws. If there is no legal reason to challenge them, then they will stand.

4- How on earth would you be able to jump from coin produced lawfully to a crime to own? That's like saying a tax cut passed by an impeached president would be tantamount to federal theft.

New hypothetical: let's imagine people didn't make up nonsense conspiracy theories.

  • Well if that did happen, I think that the Obama coins would disappear faster than the Obama bumper stickers did when they had the cash for clunkers program.

All I know is that Spiro T Agnew couldn't golf worth a darn.

    Fooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuur !
  • Certain legislation for the changing of coins has to pass from Senate, to house and then signed by him does it not? Or do I need to go back to history.. If I'm wrong I'm glad I asked but I do understand now that regardless of Impeechment it doesn't change.. That I wasn't sure of..
  • I don't think you know the definition of impeachment, honestly.

Impeachment and being removed from office are two different things.

If both parents are American citizens then yes--the child is a natural born citizen. If just one of the parents is not an American citizen or even holds dual citizenship--then the child is an American citizen but not a natural born citizen. As per the Constitution. Just sayin'.
