Does anybody know, or have a picture, of the first PCGS coin that was ever graded? Post a pic of your lowest serial number PCGS coin!!

    Serial number, or more correctly stated certification number, on PCGS coins are not sequential. PCGS does that intentionally so that date cannot be correlated with the cert number.

    Great question---What was the first coin slabbed by PCGS and did they save it for historical purposes? Hopefully HRH or Don Willis can answer this question.

    There were probably several "test" slabs that never hit the market.

    good question although that might be a better one for pcgs itself image. they might have more insight and will keep the good eye on it

  • the first coin i ever bought was a great success!

    Picked up an 1896-P Morgan that i knew was an obvious DMPL right away, and it came back the grade i thought it was. MS64DMPL. Picked it up for $35 image
  • Mine was an MS60 1883 with cents liberty nickel back in 1987. Coin is long gone.

    The first coin certified is tacked up behind the big honcho's desk, surprisingly the submitter has been very patient with the mail.
