Did Anyone Go To the Ohio Coin Expo Over the Weekend?
It had been a while since I last went (2 years). I picked up some nice wheat cents from Robert at WI Numismatics who recently came back to the show - good guy. I liked some of the responses I heard when I asked "so what's the state of the hobby?" - everything from "it's down due to the recession" to "despite the recession, wheat cents are still strong"

I went with a family friend and picked up a 1921 Peace - in a nice AU with a few dings to the cheek but nice luster and color.
Compared to the last show it seemed much quieter. I was trying to find a 09-s vdb in MS-62/63 but all that was to be found was XF or MS-64.
I sold a few bits for some show spending money but with silver prices the buy values werent as great as they had been previously.
Picked up some 2010 silver bullion coins (SAE, Maple Leaf, Brittania, Koala & Australia Year of the Tiger) and a 93 1 oz Mexican Onza.....
Show was a bit slower then the previous one, but I heard that Friday was very busy and saturday morning was much busier.....
I saw how much the proof gold eagles have tumbled back to earth.....
Was happy I went.....
One guy this weekend hesitated to take a company check for a few hundred bucks till the guy set up next to him offered to pay for it himself since half his showcase was my material he had on memo.......
now that's funny!!
