Boy Scouts of America Com. Coin Question

I was looking at the design of this coin and was a little disappointed to see a Girl on it!
Now, I have been out of the Scouting program for over 50 years but that just doesn't seem right!!
(they say a Venturing scout, which didn't start till 1998)
Can't the US MINT / Government just wait till 2012 when they come out with a Girl Scouts of America 100 yr. Anv. coin??)
(I'll bet there is no Boy pictured on there coin!!)
(don't attack me, I have nothing against Girls, just MHO on the coin design!!)

there is a thread about this very topic in here somewhere.
Boy Scout Coin

Apparently, Scouting officials want to use the coin as a promotion tool and insisted on including a girl to represent "Venturing."
The adopted design is banal mush.

CROCK WARNING!!
The BSA is not run by ANY Church friend!
And literally ANY bonafide public or civic organization that will support the Scout Law is eligible to Charter a Boy Scout Troop.

I also would hate to see it "get ugly". My character and life values where helped in a big way because of the Boy Scouts. My father was the troop leader, my only regret, after 26 merit badges(1 short of being an Eagle Scout) I quit!
I will buy one each of the coins, mostly because my "major" coin collection is the "Modern Commemorative Coins (Dollar & Half Dollar) I have every Proof since 1982 and every uncirculated since 1998 forward.
I know it's too late to change it or "make a difference" I was just venting!

<< <i>I started the last thread and watched it degenerate into a horrible exchange between stereotyping narrowminded people that will grab at any negative they can, and in turn overlook all the good an organization can do or has done. I do think the design only feeds such thinking rather than truly portraying the scouts for what they have meant to so many. The fact that the coin had to have an idealized politically correct message only slaps the history of scouting in the face the same way that those who only see "bad"and "wrong" do. There were better designs that represented the first hundred years, as they were supposed to do, but someone decided to ignore the overwhelmingly positive accomplishments of the scouts for a PC idealistic coin. Yes some scouting groups have done some bad things but the vast majority of men, mothers and kids that are the backbone of scouting are good decent people trying to teach values to young men. In regard to our new posting rules I would really like to see this thread pulled as soon as it gets as ugly as it did last time. If they wanted a female they could have at least put a den mother on the coin helping her son. This design is PC nonsense to the extreme. >>
And each and every subsequent thread will continue to degnerate until folks simply say, "I don't particularly care for the design."
Its a commemoritive and its what the BSA National Council wanted. Its sales will support their organization and many, many folks will buy these because there are many, many folks within the BSA that WANT to support the organization and don't really look at coins from a "What it Was" prespective as much as a "What it Is" perspective.
I've had many memorable experiences within BSA and will purchase one and I expect many others will as well.
