chile earthquake will cause copper to zoom higher. bound to impact coins, agree?

.....heard that the chile quake will affect copper prices. just wondering if the mint will put a BIGGER focus on

changing coin composition quicker, now.

Not sure why they would. Newly minted cents are only worth 57% of face at the moment. Any increase from the quake would be temporary.

.....ahhhhh,yes! let's not forget all those small bucks the mint is churning out too!! there's copper in them also!

Mines would not be affected. They are open pit not tunnel and shaft. Above ground
structures may have been damaged but certainly that's just temporary. Not much
chance of it moving the price of copper much.

I stayed in many of those places in central Chile vacation years back.
So sad. Earth is not a dull planet to live on!
