I'm working on the images for the "Cartwheel Cents" complete date set (1793-1857), so that I can open that set up for public viewing online, and I'm planning a possible display of the full set at the next Long Beach show.

They would certainly induce a heart attack if they were mine and somehow they got stuck in a garbage disposal or mangled by my dog.

Cardinal, that is a fabulous Early Copper type set. I am sure the date set is incredible as well.

I was able to see all 7 of those 1793 Large Cents pictured at the 1993 EAC Convention in Grapevine, Texas. It was my first EAC Convention and Jay Parrino was set up with two full cases of Gem Early Copper( He got first shot from Eric Streiner after Eric purchased the Ted Naftzger Early Dates intact in 1991/92 ). Needless to say, for a first time EAC attendee, it was a mind bending experience.

I saw these coins the last time Jay Parrino brought them to Long Beach, ca 1995. He stopped bringing them due to the very high insurance cost to transport them.

The story of these coins, how they got to Naftzger thru a teenager named Eric Streiner, is quite an interesting one.

Cardinal, I know your EarlyUScoins.org and Earlydollars.org but do you have anywhere that shows all of your coins? I know you also have that superb Half Disme.

There's a lot of soap-operatic intrigue involving Streiner as a coin broker back then. That original photo always makes me drool, and nice to see the closeup provided by cardinal of one. Great, great, great coin!

Stacks had a very nice Gem Chain Cent a few years ago. That one looked nicer to me than the two examples pictured.
