    It's very simple...
You go to Memphis, you eat ribs.
When you go to Ocean City, you get salt water taffey.
When you go to New Orleans, you eat cajun food.
When you go to Baltimore, you eat CRABCAKES!!!! NOT BURGERS!!!! image

It would have been less than fifty, if RYK had not protested so strongly against the concept image

Just so everyone can check it out - Five Guys is in Harborplace (Pratt Street Pavilion) - 201 E. Pratt. Take a right turn out of the Convention Center and it's a couple blocks down. They are open from 10am-10pm.

Tell them RYK sent you image
  • I frequently visit the one in Marlborough, Massachusetts. They by far have the best burgers I have eaten and yes Gold bully I have been to an In an Out burger joint and theres no comparison to me. They change where they get their french fries from several times a year over many different states. One thing I have noticed often is that when you have a take order and order fries they always put an extra scoop of fries in the bag(Thats awesome) and filling too. On their bullentin board they have a picture of the reigning champion burger eater. He has eaten seven double burgers, now thats incredibleimage

No, that's just gross. I draw the line on competitive eating. I don't see how any good can come out of that at all, and I do not think it is responsible for restaurants to promote it. Enjoying the occasional fast food meal is one thing, enjoying seven of them all at once is quite another.

Hey, I am not telling you guys what to eat or not eat. If I ate like that, it would be no time before I looked like GoldBully's girlfriend. image Eating bacon double cheeseburgers just does not work for me, on a number of levels.

I think the thread was supposed to be about a coin drop in Baltimore, but it sort of digressed from there image

I'll bet the guy who ate these burgers would be just as grossed out on what we spend on coins.

Well, at least a coin, you buy and sell it, and then someone else can enjoy it.

goto the website of most major chains, not just fast food but places like PF Changs - you won't like what you see under the fat and calories of the food, it is shocking. If you eat out it is not as healthy as home.

I just came back from Miami and went to Joe's Stone Crab and got Stone Crabs and fried chicken, only local would ever dare order the chicken and it is some of the best in the country. The keylime pie did not help much either but sometimes you just have to live a little.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

I love Joe's! Mmmm, Colossals. I dined at the Vegas location last month and always stop by the original, Miami Beach location, when in South Florida.

Of course, you could not pay me to eat the fried chicken. image

As for key lime pie, I used to be a big fan of Joe's version. A little over a year ago, I taught myself to make it (it's ridiculously easy). I would never order it out again.

    or maybe not

America's Worst French Fries (and What You Should Eat Instead!)

    Worst Regular Order of Fries
    Five Guys Fries (large)
    1,464 calories
    71 g fat (14 g saturated)
    213 mg sodium

Unfortunately, Five Guys doesn’t offer anything but fries in the side department. Your safest bet, of course, is to skip the fries altogether (you’d be better off adding a second patty to your burger), but if you can’t bring yourself to eat a burger sans fries, then split a regular order. That will still add 310 calories to your meal, but it beats surrendering more than 75% of your day’s calories to a greasy paper bag.

Bonus tip: Sides account for a third of our combo-meal calories—but drinks account for a quarter of the total calories we consume each day! Battle the liquid bulge: Avoid all drinks on this shocking list of The Worst Drinks in the Supermarket.

    Eat This Instead!
    Regular Fries (1/2 serving)
    310 calories
    15 g fat (3 g saturated)
    45 mg sodium

Holy Crap! 1500 calories in a side dish? It's not unusual that I consume less than 1500 calories in a whole day.

If I worked in baltimore, I would join you guys for lunch just to pass out business cards. image

Oh well, I am off to Five Guys right now.

The thing is, you have to order the fries in order to enjoy the complete Five Guys experience.

It's like when you go to a really good restaurant and share food with your companions in order to check out how good the chef is.

I'll eat maye a dozen of them. But I will eat them!

I personally prefer Fogo De Chao at $50 bucks ahead not including drinks, but if you want pricey try Charlston you can spend $300 to $500 ahead with out getting full.
