I have 10 1955-S Lincoln's in a brown envelope. Each one is packed in a cello pack with a drawing of the cents. It appears they might be all the dies from that year. They were sent from San Franciso. Does anyone know about these, or, does anyone know how to contact Stewart so I might ask him? Thanks a ot in advance and have a great day! Ray
The first photo is showing a few of the coins still in their cellos.
The second photo shows a coin with the diagram of the coin. It shows the varients of the die.

The 3rd photo also shows a varient of the die which shows up on the coin.

The 4th and 5th photos show the envelope the coins came in. It's dated 1956 from San Francisco.

Thanks a lot in advanve. Ray

not only the return address, but the post mark
says Los Angeles.
These diagrams were common in the 1950's -
I believe they were actually rubber stamps;
collectors would stamp the image on a piece
of paper (as illustrated), and then draw the
die error on it - commonly used for die cracks,
clash marks, blob letters, etc. etc.
I see nothing that indicates this is from the
SF Mint - from what I see, it's an interesting
time capsule of what collectors did to show
other collectors (thru the mail) what interesting
die errors they found, or that they wanted to sell.
there probably were over 200 dies - both front and back - used in 1955 San Francisco
back before widespread television/cable/internet,
there were probably millions who enjoyed looking at coins and stamps for hours
cheap entertainment

I believe that Mr.Halfdime is the only one here that responds to random images projected into the sky...
But you just put an image into my head that I really could have done without
