When do your eBay coin auctions sell the best?

I'm interested in the ENDING TIME where your eBay coin auctions have historically done the best.

If you prefer to aim your items at a certain time or time zone (e.g., 9pm east coast), mention that too.

I don't know that I've ever seen a similar poll done here. Maybe this will be interesting.

It's mostly during the late afternoon & evenings on the weekends except during the holidays or major sporting events...

I always end mine around 6pm Pacific time on Sunday evenings... Figure that's a good time and it's still early enough for the east coast bidders to be there at the last minute. I don't sell much on eBay, but when I do I figured that would be a good way to go. I also like to do 7 or 10 day listings for everything just to give people more time to find me. It seems like a waste to do a 3 or 1 day auction since many will miss it, and if someone wants a coin they'll wait the 7-10 days for it anyways.

I don't think there is any "good time", don't most serious bidders use snipe programs? Do people actually watch or wait around for the end of an auction? I know I sure don't. There is an item ending tonight which I will watch,but just because it's ending during my on line "viewing hours," if it was ending wednesday morning it wouldn't change my bid.

I am finding that my late afternoon early Sunday evening for me to be the best. Sure got skunked on the mid week stuff earlier this week.

its funny, I used to obsess about end times too.........then it got to the point that we worked all day creating auctions and just let auctiva list them all every night at 10PM

now I don't sell on ebay and don't miss it a bit......good luck with your ebay adventures.

I have my first auction end at around 10:00 PM eastern time and then there are 2-3 minute intervals

in between each auction thereafter. I find that I get the best results letting them run 7 days and ending on Sundays.

I ran a test a long time ago - and listed a very similar group of coins every day for a week. The results were dramatic. Fri and Sat were by far the best. Sun and Thurs were OK. Mon, Tues and Wed were awful. I had stated all the coins with 99 cents and no reserve. I lost money on each of Mon, Tues Wed. Thurs and Sun seemed to be reasonable prices. A few of the coins went for ridiculous money on Fri and Sat - I am guessing that alcohol played a part

. Anyway, I dropped Mon-Wed entirely, and try to get most ending for weekends.

Snipes do happen, but one shouldn't depend on that.
I've been "serious" about a few coins but got busy, forgot to set the snipe, and the auction ended during the early afternoon (PST) and that kills it for me

I don't sell much anymore, but if one wants the most for it, I have found I do better when people on the west coast can be home in time, after work, and people on the east coast have a chance before bedtime.

Having the biggest buying crowd is not so good when you also have the biggest selling crowd. If you are selling a common coin and want top dollar list it for 5 or 10 days on sunday evening. The weekend crowd will see it and if they want it they will be back for it.

I like putting up the item on a Friday and running it 10 days...it gets 2 weekends' worth of coverage and is on the "ending soon" list Sunday evening, giving it time for the snipers to zap it Monday AM.
