That sinking feeling
Aw well , i had a good run at it , the ol'selling coinage on ebay.I reckon my until now respectable feedback will take a hammering.I sold an item on the 15th , it remains unpaid and today is the 21st.Remembering the thread about releasing the hounds too early i waited until today to message the buyer cordially.I mentioned if said buyer would like to inform me when we can conclude our transaction ill be glad to send the item,no hint of any hostility or loss of patience.
I expected a few different responses from the one i got which was no response other to bid on an open auction of mine ending in 4 days.
The buyer has 1100 feedback so knows how ebay works , tomorrow is 7 days = unpaid dispute , unlikely as all it accomplishes is a neg.An impossible situation if one thinks about it , not a thing i can do.

What I would do: Just send another cordial reminder after 7 days. Wait until 14 days to file the NPB (if you hear nothing). Sometimes people pay slow for various reasons -- waiting for payday, looking to combine auctions, wating for the next billing cycle on the credit card, etc. Not saying these are good excuses, but it is still easier to get a slow payer to pay rather than re-list. And these guys may turn out to be repeat custmoers or future underbidders.
Im not so sure id want a repeat customer putting coins on lay away.

As others have advised, be patient.
I'm a small time ebayer with less than 300 transactions in ten years but I can tell you about several positive feedbacks I received from buyers who made NO contact for almost two weeks.
I did NOT contact them during the second week at all.
Good luck.

Just give it a little time. You'll get paid.

you can stipulate in your terms of sale that you reserve the right to resell items that have not been payed for and just move on, add the bidder to yur blocked bidder list and forget about it.
The way ebay has "fixed" things makes it impossible to act like nornal human beings when something does not go as planned, when someone stiff's me on an auction..I just let it go......not worth the trouble and possible neg...
It's a screwed up way to do things, but it's the way they have made it.sucks...........but until one of the big $$$ folks steps up and goes head to head with ebay....
that's the way it is.....
Some buyers use a different email for ebay because they consider it spam and don't see messages.

People have lives, people have reasons for what they do. With ebay, if you don't want to wait to get paid, do the BIN with immediate payment option. There. Done.
As to not hearing back from the person, are you 100% sure? Is there a chance that they responded, only in email, and that didn't make it to you? Spam filters?
Me? I would, and have, been a bit more relaxed on waiting for a payment. Yes, I want my money right away too, but, I know there are people not exactly like me out there and it is MY choice to sell to them on ebay.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>One of the biggest disservices this board does to people is to get the herd mentality going. Too many folks love to lash out and this ebay game is a prime target. The buyer may have reasons, or he may be a jerk. All in what one wants to believe right now, but the expectations that people set, based on themselves, is just funny sometimes.

Topics like this often are a disservice i agree , other times i think they serve as warnings of the pitfalls as ebay evolves. In answer to the question , yes im 100% certain the buyer did not respond in any way.
I think some are missing the point in that i had mentioned id messaged the buyer on day 6 with a polite message and within the hour the same buyer had bid on another item days away from ending.
Ebay themselves allow a cancellation request after 4 days and an unpaid item strike after 7 days so i can see why sellers get anxious , ive said since very early on my pants are not in a twist over it,i do think Touche got it spot on
