OK, what do I do?

So I am cleaning out 95% of my baseball collection. I have sold off more than 250 vintage baseball gloves in the last few years, along with game programs, autographed baseballs, single cards, and other various memorabilia. I am now at the point where I want to get rid of my complete sets. I am complete from 1975-1990, Topps, Fleer, Score, Upper Deck, Donruss, Leaf, traded sets, update sets, Donruss Rookie and Highlights sets, etc. I am not looking to make a killing of these, really mainly want to recapture the storage space from something that doesn't mean much to me anymore. The 1975-maybe 1981 Topps sets will bring a bit, but what about the rest? How do I get rid of it? I just saw an ebay auction for two unopened 1990 Score factory sets with two hours left. The opening bid of 99 cents had still not been met. I really don't want this stuff anymore, but what do I do with it? Recycle? Any input and/or buyers would be welcome!

Provide the boards with a complete list of sets and condition. It might spark some deals, and at the very least some advice on disposition.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
    Kiss me twice.....let's party.
  • Donate the worthless stuff to a local boys club and take the tax write off. They will enjoy it and you at least get something back.
  • If you don't donate them, you can always do a free listing on Craigslist or set up at a flea market or garage sale

Haha... Not sure. I sold a lot of gloves. Musial, Mantle, Berra, Doerr, Reese, Irvin, lots of 1920s & 1930s stuff, a Ken-Wel Dazzy Vance... I only kept a nice Mickey Mantle, a split-finger Joe DiMaggio, and two Ted Williams Models that I was able to have Ted sign before he passed away. Here are a few photos of my former baseball room...

Glad you guys liked it. I am still selling stuff. I haven't even touched my bats yet. Still have some 1960s -1980s pennants, the cards, and lots of other stuff that I am still digging up. It is amazing how much you can accumulate and not even really realize it.

Those barber chairs are an awesome touch. I might consider copying that idea someday.

You guys are too funny. I collected pretty hard fromt he time that I got my first box of baseball cards (1978 Topps - when I was five years old) until I turned, maybe 29. So nearly 24 years. But the game lost me, and at the same time I developed my interest in the old American Football League. I have been collecting AFL Chargers and more recently AFL signed cards since then. I am 37 now, and have collected a fair amount of that stuff as well.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I have that model box as well (along with the built plane).

Makes a great display piece that doesn't seem to be all that common.

And thanks for sharing the pics.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
