"hump" and "highly skilled ape" in the same post. Very Impressive sir.

<< <i>Ok if you insist 50 years ago is 1960 right? You trying to say that no card from 1960 has gone down in value?

maybe not from 1960 levels when they were a penny a piece but I'm sure that some PSA 8's that were being gobbled up

as low pops sure as heck have gone down especially since the pops have increased.

Not sure what color glasses you are looking through. I'm not too familiar with the 60 set but I know as fact

some 1965 cards have gone down.

If you want me to list a few just ask.

    Steve >>

Clearly we are talking about 1960 or earlier prices compared to now. The cards were almost worthless then, as they were just an extra prize in packs of gum for children, and even commons are worth a substantial amount now. If you can find a card from 1960 or earlier that is worth less now than the day it was printed, I would be utterly amazed. "50 years from now they will all be worth much less than they are now" is a bold and absolutely ridiculous generalization. It is the same as saying every card that is printed is forever doomed to be worth less 50 years from the day it was printed. Sit and think about how stupid that is.

    Clearly we were NOT.

I suggest YOU go back and re read what that person said and what I said.

    And then what you said.

You may be talking about 1960 and earlier he and I were NOT.

<< <i> If you can find a card from 1960 or earlier that is worth less now than the day it was printed, >>

Dude I already addressed that, of course cards out of the pack from 50 years ago are worth MORE now.

When I said "maybe not from 1960 levels when they were a penny a piece"

I'm done with this. This is utterly ridiculous.

What I don't understand is SOMEONE else makes a comment, someone else can see it and appear to disagree with it.

I'm still confused, Paul. Can you help me out?

<< <i>First offf these are my exact words..in my first post..

"From what I gather Felicia was a Man, and a complete weirdo.

Im not saying it wasnt a good person, just straight up weird for playing games and getting a kick out of fooling an entire message board that its a Woman when in fact it was a MAN.

Felicia, maybe a TV? Crossdresser? Try and explore that next since your done with the Message Board thingy" >>

So you're saying Felicia is either a transvestite or a crossdresser.

<< <i>My exact words in my second post..

"I got a LENGTHY PM from a friend of mine here and he gave me pretty much example after example including links, ect.. ect.. to back up what he was saying.

I gave my Word I would not tell anyone where this info came from- I gotta stick with that.

Again Im not saying it wasnt a Bad Person but I do stand by my previous post.

Edit: I will direct that person to this thread and leave it up to him to explain, if he choses. " >>

Ok, standing behind your word. Good on ya.

<< <i>but again from what I was told it is TWO different people not just Felicia who more than likely is real however it is not "Felicia" that posts all the time. >>

Hold the phone. Your initial post called her a transvestite and/or a crossdresser. Your second post backed that up.

NOW you're saying you were told it was TWO people the whole time?

Sorry, your stories don't add up. You certainly looked to be disparaging in that first comment if you knew it was two different people based on lengthy PMs from this secret source.

I have received lengthy PMs from folks who say you're a bag of hot air. I'll link them here so they can come forward if they want to, of course.

<< <i>if anyone has a problem with me feel free to PM me or save it until the National and we can handle it anyway you want face to face. >>

Wow. Another internet tough guy. That explains a lot.

I'm only replying because this thread is at the top of the page.

If everyone would just let this die, it will go away.

We get the point now. Felicia was not the one posting on here. The person posting was a man. The person buying high $$ wax/racks/cellos from BBCE was a man. Steve Hart confirmed this. Felicia (whoever she is) obviously at least exists. Mike confirmed this part. Maybe his wife's name is Felicia. Maybe it's his mistress or his sister. Who gives a rats azz now?

He was a valuable asset to this community but is surely long gone from this board now. He gave away enormous amounts of high dollar packs and cards. My one experience was asking to purchase about 200 commons for a 1976 Topps set. A week later, I get a complete set in the mail. Those days are gone now.

Even though I can not understand why he would feel the need to post as a woman, he has his reasons I guess. Only part that irks me a little was the 52 Topps BOARD set build with a contest. Set was abandoned along with the contest and no real explanation why. Oh well. I think we should all move on.

As far as Paul being sounding like an internet tough guy, he gladly offered to meet in person at National this year to discuss it. Doesn't sound like he is hiding behind a keyboard to me.

This board will be completely dead soon thanks to never ending drama like this. I may have been a pot stirrer myself in the past but many good posters left this forum already do to drama prior to this episode.

My last post on this subject,
    Peace

I hope everyone sees that this is simply the best board around.

Once you have a grasp on the hobby and know that this is a place for baseball cards then you are fine.

Although you may meet many people and develop relationships with them that is not neccessary.

Take things for what it is worth.

I hope all the people that were thinking of leaving stay and simply ignore the nay-sayers.

I often don't jump into these threads as I haven't met anyone on the boards but am quite happy with this board, and to be honest without this board I may even quit collecting again.

If it was for meeting other odd-ball error collectors here I would be done.

So, everyone post, enjoy, make a new username/avatar/email., whatever, just share and keep it postive.

What's not to understand. Someone made an absolutely ridiculous statement that all cards will be worth less in 50 years, and you said "I can't argue with it.", and I asked you to elaborate. And you think it's ME with the reading comprehension problem? lol At least when I type something, I will back up what I typed.
  • Options
Once again SCT makes a thread about him and his lack of reading comprehension skills.

  • Options
I'd also like to know, SCT, how

    <
Can you elaborate, Steve? How many cards from 50 ago would you say have "lost value"? Scratch that. Show me ONE card from 50 years ago that has "lost value" >

How does 50 years from 2010 suddenly become "Before the 60s?" I mean, maybe it's just me, but if I'm talking about cards from 50 years ago, I'm starting my conversation with the 1960s set, not before that.

You know what SCT you are right, in 50 years I'll still be alive and all my cards will be

worth more. To argue with this anymore will only cheapen this forum.

You are right, in fact you have always been right.

Next time you want someone to elaborate on a comment that THEY make ask them.

I guess you missed the part where he said "and many of you will be dead"

Let alone that he was talking about 50 years in the future.

How you got us to go backwards is what makes you right.

Dude, you have serious issues with seeing only what you want to see. If you were only commenting on the assumption that you will be dead in 50 years, then would that NOT be what I was asking you to elaborate on??? All you had to say was, I WAS COMMENTING ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT I WILL BE DEAD IN 50 YEARS, NOT AGREEING THAT ALL CARDS WILL BE WORTH LESS IN 50 YEARS. You always accuse others of having reading comprehension problems, yet you have THE worst reading comprehension skills I have ever seen on a message board. My god. I ask you the simplest question I can ask you, and you turn it into THIS??? I think you just love to argue.

Since there wasn't even a serious hobby called card collecting 50 years ago, I'm not sure how going back that far even applies. It IS germaine to point out how many cards have lost value since the heyday of the hobby. Many haven't, but a ton have. I don't think it's an absurd statement to say that in 50 years most cards may have dropped in value. Do I agree with the statement?? Hard to say for sure, but there's a big difference between agreeing with a statement and saying you can't argue with it. It's called the gray area for a reason.

    Quite possibly. :-)

Can you say with absoute certainty that we won't all be using cards for TP in 50 years and living a road warrior existence?? It's not entirely impossible, even if it seems absurdly unlikely. I think that's what this whole debate has turned into - some arguing in black and white, and some pointing our the grey area in between positions.
