Oddly enough, I know where you're going with the answer to #5...and though his name appears on the back, it was shown in a thread on this forum that Ryan was not in fact in the image on the '67 team card.

STEVE GEORGE. Back in '89 Leiter was at a card show I did and I paid for him to sign about 25 of these cards. I still have about 5 left! LOL

    Good for you.
  • Ok so #3 and #5 are done. Always heard Nolan was on that card, thanks for clearing it up.

Not sure if Pete has a last card yet.

I read somewhere that UD signed him for 2010 and he will be in the reprint goudeys.

Not sure if that can be the answer or not.

#5. I believe Ryan was on the 1967 Topps Mets team card.

We looked into it and it was proven beyond doubt that he was listed on the back because he had stats but
the picture on the card was of Jack Lamabe IIRC.

Didn't the 1991 Topps Desert Shield come before Stadium Club??? tho, some 1990 Topps rookies inserts (from cello or rak packs) had gold foil stamping)... or possibly 1991 Action Packed FB?? And Rose is in the 2000 UD base set...
  • Was #1 going to be a name like Pinnacle or Premier which Fleer had to change when another card company used that name for a product which beat them to the marketplace.

It was a long time ago; but something like that explanation stuck in my memory

And unless something occured after that, Pete Rose was a manager in the 1989 Topps set.

Pete Rose in 2010 Upper Deck
January 6, 2010 · Filed Under Baseball, Upper Deck

Upper Deck announced the signing today of Baseball’s All Time Hit leader, Pete Rose. Fans can expect to see signed cards and memorabilia cards from Pete in 2010 Upper Deck releases starting with the Goudey release.

    Knew I read that somewhere.

Edited to add: Does UD even have a MLB License? Or is that the trick to the question?

Does this mean that if you get an auto'd card in a pack that Pete will call you from Vegas and ask you for $20?

Beginning this year, Topps has the exclusive contract with MLB making it the only MLB licensed cards. Upper Deck still has a license with the MLBPA, meaning they may produce cards with the players image but no team logos, ala Topps football cards in the 70's.
