STEVE GEORGE. Back in '89 Leiter was at a card show I did and I paid for him to sign about 25 of these cards. I still have about 5 left! LOL

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
yes I think we narrowed it down to being Jack lamabe who was wearing number 34?
Steve
I read somewhere that UD signed him for 2010 and he will be in the reprint goudeys.
Not sure if that can be the answer or not.

'91 Stadium Club?
or is that too obvious?
We looked into it and it was proven beyond doubt that he was listed on the back because he had stats but
the picture on the card was of Jack Lamabe IIRC.

It was a long time ago; but something like that explanation stuck in my memory
And unless something occured after that, Pete Rose was a manager in the 1989 Topps set.

Upper Deck announced the signing today of Baseball’s All Time Hit leader, Pete Rose. Fans can expect to see signed cards and memorabilia cards from Pete in 2010 Upper Deck releases starting with the Goudey release.
Knew I read that somewhere.

Edited to add: Does UD even have a MLB License? Or is that the trick to the question?
Does this mean that if you get an auto'd card in a pack that Pete will call you from Vegas and ask you for $20?

Beginning this year, Topps has the exclusive contract with MLB making it the only MLB licensed cards. Upper Deck still has a license with the MLBPA, meaning they may produce cards with the players image but no team logos, ala Topps football cards in the 70's.
