Minnesota Fighting Saints - WHA team from the early to mid-70's not many claims to fame- they did have the Carlson brothers, and if you've ever seen the movie Slap Shot, the Hanson brothers were modeled after the carlsons. Plus you gotta love a team with "Fighting" in their official name, right
A non-authentic Mickey Mantle autographed card with properly identified flip that somehow managed to get slabbed by the "mechanical errors" at PSA and returned to the submitter. I won the auction, and was going to wear it around my neck like an ID badge at the National a few years back, but PSA reached out to the seller and got it back.
I think someone's sack shrank - I love the the name and logo Houston 1836.
This was an American sports team and no foreigners should have had a say in the picking of that name. The name was not derogatory toward any ethnic people or historic event.
If that was the case they should have retracted "Redskins", 49ers and the Texas Rangers - all which have controversial involvement with Native Americans.
but - at least "Dynamo" was a classic football club name like United and City ...
AVITAR:
Ian Fraser Killmeister - aka LEMMY - from the British band Motörhead. ... "that's the way I like it baby, I don't wanna live forever ..." - ACE of SPADES
My avitar........ Looks like Kilauea at Pu'u O'o Vent or maybe at the Kilauea Iki fountain many years ago.
I live 15 miles from it (uphill )
Here is Mauna Kea (tallest mountain in the world, 34,000' base to summit) its also a few miles from me too PS Mt.Everest is the highest........ not tallest
Here is Mauna Loa (most massive mountain in the world, 10,000 cubic miles of mass!!!!), I actually live on its lower flanks the snow is at the 10,000+ level, and this pic was taken from 3,000' at Kau Desert looking up at summit. Mauna Loa is so massive it doesnt look like a mountain anymore, it takes 3 hours to drive around it
Custom 1974 topps card of Roberto Clemente made by a fellow board member. I do not have this card but was given permission from the board member to use the picture as my avitar. Unfortunately I can't remember who the board member is.
