Wow, amazing items you have there! I especially like the Green Hornet boxes. How do you attain suck items? I can see older dealers having some of those items and the Topps Auction back in the 90's, you got any good stories about some of the others?

    thank you very much,
it's funny how i got into this hobby/addiction i use to buy first series gpk from kids in my neighborhood and at school back in 1985 for .05 each, then once the 2nd series came out i sold them for $1.00 each at the swap meet, once 3rd series came out $2.00 each. in 1986 i did my first baseball card show and from 1986-1994 all i collected bought/sold was sports cards, took a break for 5 years writing the great american comedy book YOU KNOW YOU'RE A SLACKER IF.. cuz i was too lazy to write the great american novel haha, slacker was published in 1999 and 1999 was also the year i found ebay and got back into roidsball. made a tad of money then lost my a$$ in the sports cards market. i've always been a sitcom junkie and realized while i bought and sold roidsball cards i didn't really have a passion i did with the gpk in 1985. so that's when a few years back i made my main focus .5 wax packs and boxes and then psa graded sets of all the 1960s tv shows and sitcoms i loved watching as a kid in 80s and i bought anything and everything i could get my hands on once that addiction was born, couple years ago i discovered mars attacks, the dark haughting beauty of the nightmares captured in the artwork was truely fine works of art and masterpieces and that became my new addiction and main focus as i realized i don't have the coin to collect everything i enjoy. so now my goal is to get my mars attacks set to psa gpa 8.0 in the next 50 years or by the year 2012 not sure haha
    love and laughter,

ps the green hornet boxes are really fun and i enjoy the artwork of the 5 cent bubble gum card wax packs and display boxes but to this day i've never seen an unopened 5 cent bubble gum card wax pack mars attacks, i sure would love to have one of those to my collection. maybe someday...

    Evening,
    Slacker,
I am assuming that is you who has bid that Mars Attack Common #46 in PSA MINT 9 up to $2025.00. You, by your own admission, are a late comer to the whole Mars Attacks thing.
I got my start buying them 5 at a time from a 1 cent vending machine in front of one of the very first 7-11's in the country in 1962, in Sacramento Ca., when I was 6 years old. I have dreams almost every night of some Little Ol' Lady calling me and saying "My Husband died and I found this old Vending Machine in the Garage filled with about 500 of these Old Trading cards, there called Mars Attacks. I remember my Husband used to drive a truck around filling those machines back in the early 60's, Oh and by the way there's a Stack of these vending boxes here to, filled with the same cards...$50 bucks and its all yours" !!!!!!!!

I get a Woody just fantasizing about it!!!!!!

    Yeehah image

    Neilimage
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!

    Hey Slacker,
I just checked out your stuff... man, you got the GOODS! Congratulations. Well, I've tried to pick up a few cards from different sets..... Topps Space, Civil War News, and I have a whole set (mostly ungraded) of 1936 Jolly Roger cards, but I found that they robbed my focus from my main interest of Mars Attacks. Also, the financial attention that M.A. demands leaves me with less coin for the other sets.

And, I know what you mean about "treasures in heaven." I'm also looking forward to the same thing. Let's just hope it doesn't all "go down" in 2012. image I have too many more cards to collect. Just kidding of course....what really can be better than HEAVEN?

I also have a goal of having an all PSA8 set of '62 Mars Attacks. Might be impossible though unless a rich relative dies and leaves me a fortune.

yes neil before i was even a twinkle in my pops eye you were collecting mars attacks bubble gum cards back in 1962, man that sounds straightly challenged haha. nope only mars attacks psa 9 mint card i own is the really haunting alien artwork of the flame throwers, i didn't bid on the card you mentioned psa 9 mint. wasn't me, must of been another slacker or perhaps worse a workaholic with some coin. while i started out with like the #49 set of the psa set reg of 1962 topps mars attacks, due to a pure miracle i'm now #6. with faith 8.0 psa gpa
