Heritage sale begins today and I haven't seen a single thread about it...
Seems a bit strange. Will I be the only one there? I hope so, but my banker may feel otherwise.

We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
I do, near the back left corner of the main room. Hope to see you there!

?? explain please!
And I think that's an apt description.
I still bit on some of them however
Mama!!!!
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.
There are a lot of proofs in the floor sale. They are fabulous but outside of my core collecting interest. I don't expect much of a haul from this auction compared with the June '09 offerings from Heritage and Goldberg.
I will be bidding moon money on a couple of lots in the non-floor sale, so don't bother bidding on those.

Other than the usual overpriced Red Book listed varieties, there is exactly 1 piece in this set of auctions.

Floor bids are losing, but internet auction the week after is doing OK so far.
Oh well, more $ to spend on the floor of the show. See you there.

Andy, I'll see you there tomorrow. Nothing much for me in Session 1.
Don't want to sit through all that Canadian!

I think they try to interrupt dinners in as many time zones as possible. Part of the "corporate mission statement", or something like that.

Who wants to wait for all those lots, either on the floor or on the net?
Heritage did the same thing with all the Japanese MOF coins in the May 2009 Long Beach sale.
Several hundred lots of identical Japanese gold.
The sheer number of Canadian lots is one thing that kept me from attending the sale tonight.
That was one lot I would have considered bidding on. Very cool!

Nope. Actually, I didn't buy much of anything last night. I do expect to buy quite a bit today, though.

And what is up with that 12 hour long auction session? Brutal.

Bottom line is that I paid almost double what I thought I would have to pay for the 4; had to let the rest ride on by.
Bad news for me of course, but it looks like pretty good news for the coin market.
Just hope it holds up when I have to sell to pay the light bill

The 65BN 1869 halfpenny fetched $1,725 including the 15% juice. Wow. (No, this was not the lot I pursued)

<< <i>One for four. But the one I got is one I have been wanting for a while. If this is all I win, I feel successful.

I already have a higher grade 1826 penny but I was intrigued by the severe flan cracking, it went for about 1/2 of estimate so I picked it up. It's in NGC 64 BN. The strike is really hammered on this one also.
And finally although I lost the 1/2 d I picked up the 1834 Will. IV penny in 65 BN.
It was a funny old auction, some of the things went really cheap, and some well over previous pricing. I thought a lot of the copper and bronze proofs of record went pretty cheap overall, although I saw a few of them went very dear.
