Buyers wanting something for nothing makes these guys' schemes work.

Greed on their end and the buyers is what makes both work. The best resolution for this is the scum seller to go to jail for a LONG time and the buyer to never see his money again. Both are as guilty in this instance, its just that one made and one lost money

Most often that is true.

The subject SCUM offers to reduce the sale price
on the cards, when/if the buyer balks at sending
paper payments.

Suddenly, the buyers' 50% off "bargain" turns into
a 75%+ off bargain. The temptation is too great for
some folks.

Too bad you just do not get my post and all the others like it.

I made no mention of crime in general, I spoke of buying cards (high value ones at that) to be

silly if you don't know the person. What is so humorous about that? It's called due diligence and

should be practiced when buying from unknown sources. People with common sense adhere to that principle.

I see that you do not.

Just saw this on NET54. Someone there received this message from eBay about the "scammer's" eBay account.

Apparently he's stealing people's eBay accounts and using them to sell his fakes.

"#1 Our records show that you recently contacted or received messages from thevintagecardexpress2009 through eBay's messaging system. This account was recently found to have been accessed by an unauthorized third party, who may have used the account in an attempt to defraud other members. We've taken action to restore this account to the original owner, but wanted to let you know to be suspicious of any communication you may have received from them. #2 We're writing to let you know that the listing for the following item you bid on has been removed: 220531482469 - 1933 GOUDEY BABE RUTH PSA 2 #53 WOW L@@K!!!!!! We removed the listing and canceled your bid because it appears that the seller's account was used by someone without the seller's permission. The seller's selling privileges might be temporarily suspended while we investigate. Because of privacy concerns, we can't share more details. yes ebay is on crack first they send out emails to the buyers that the sellers acct was hijacked and now safely restored and the original ebay acct has the same cards to list like the hijacker...its more than crack..welcome to the twilight zone

Im thinking the easiest way to solve this is to call ebay and ask them to call ebay user sparky-23 who purchased this card on 05/25/08 and ask him if he still owns the card and if so, to attach front and back scans with his name on it.

It was about 3 hours ago,I made an offer on the clemente,
he counteroffered for 2 dollars more,said if I pay by m/o only.I
emailed back all thru ebay mind you,then 10 minutes later he calls me,
tells me addy to send overnight m/o.All the info is correct about addy except phone # he called from.
He was hispanic for sure,then he just sent me another email thru ebay saying same thing about m/o only.

Like has been said before, I would call the police in San Diego and give them every bit of info you have collected. Tell them how much he is scamming for and I'll bet they will check it out. He's breaking a lot of laws.
