When I was a kid growing up in Clearwater (late 1960's), we used to drive down to Sarasota and go the Ringling Bros. Circus Museum. I'm not sure if it's still there, but that's about all I remember about Sarasota.

One thing I AM sure of, you'll see less snow there!

Good luck Lee, hope to see you at fun 2011. I am starting this year 2010 and plan to attend every year. I did make it in 2006, but was still working. Now retired and plan to make it every year. My wife has a son who lives in Sarasota, so we work in a visit at FUN time. I always enjoy your post.

Again good luck on your new adventure.

Good Luck in your future endeavors in sunny, hot...hot...hot Florida. I have family in Florida, but can't wait to get back after spending a few days there. It's not all it's cracked out to be. Nice place to visit though. Hunting sucks! My sister moved there from Delaware and is now living in, you guessed it, Delaware. Hurricanes, tornadoes, rain, expenses, expenses, expenses ran her back! Good luck moving to one expensive state and be prepared to pay a lot more for a house on sand. Just kidding...Just wanted to give your old ticker a jolt to make sure you're alive. Any state is what you make it and I'm sure you'll find it lovely...Take care and here's wishing you much success.

Welcome to Florida - and I'm sure you'll love Sarasota
as its a very cosmopolitan area and has a lot of activities.
Far more than where I live in Naples.

There's a decent annual coin show in Sarasota on US 41
every Winter - usually after the FUN show dates.

Next year [ 2011 ] the FUN show will be in Tampa; but,
I'm looking forward to this upcoming show in Orlando.

BTW, the Ringling Museum is very much alive; the art
musuem rivals anything in a large metropolitan area
and the residence was completely renovated a couple
of years ago - and was featured on the cover of Architectural
Digest. I believe its still open free to the Public on Sundays.
Its well worth seeing.
