Why don't you find us a very limited, not autographed and popular Potvin card like the Nomo Crusade and tell us it didn't get an insane price. You can't, because there haven't been any listed as of late. Keep talking in circles. You haven't proven anything, yet you keep bumping your chest in triumph.
Clearly you don't get that I'm done arguing with you because it's clear to me that you are clueless and know nothing about the modern market.

Again, he's widely collected compared to his accomplishments- nobody is disputing that. But showing prices of $44 and $23 for cards sold does not mean his cards are selling for "INSANE prices" as you stated. Like I said, there are a lot of guys in all sports that sell for $20-$40 in tough sets, sets where even stars and HOFers sell for not as much.
I guess your idea of insane and everybody else's is different. If $44 is an insane amount of money to you for a parallel card, then I guess you proved your point according to your standards. But for the rest of the world, show us a $300 card. Hell, show us a $100 card. Anything that would clue us all in to your infinite wisdom of the Potvin card anomaly.

THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY OF THOSE TYPES OF RARE CARDS LISTED RECENTLY. What's not to understand??? He DOES have $300-$500 sales. He DOES get outrageous prices for his rarest cards. Just because there hasn't been any for sale recently, doesn't mean the ones that DID get insane prices never happened. Wake up already. He outsells Hall of Famers in the same sets for Christ's sake, and you are arguing with me about semantics??? You need a reality check.
Sorry if you can't grasp that a bum player selling for $23 in the same set where an extremely popular Hall of Famer can't sell for under $4 is "insane" to me. It's a just a word I use to describe something I find "surprising". Is that a better word for you to understand?
THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY OF THOSE TYPES OF RARE CARDS LISTED RECENTLY. What's not to understand???
Reality check? You're the one getting bent out of shape in a debate about Felix Potvin cards. I rarely use animated gif's, but this one is definitely appropriate:
If there are $300-$500 Potvin sales then you're correct, I just haven't seen any. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. Not a big deal to me, but apparently it means a lot to you.

Yeah, because I used big letters and added a couple more exclamation marks, I'm bent out of shape. lol I just know how to use a keyboard, sorry. "I'm perfectly calm, Dude."

Quite a sad state of affairs that so many here would discount a player, his hobby status and this thread simply because they've never heard of him. I know this is not much of a hockey board, but come on.

Speaking of Felix. Did you know that Felix (or the Spanish Félix) is a common first name and surname. It originates from Latin, meaning "happy" or "lucky". Due to it's favorable meaning, the name was popular with early Christians and used by many Saints and Popes.
The surname Felix is most common among the Spanish and French.

Pricing on parallels is often dependent on whether there is more than 1 person actively collecting the set who needs the card. All it takes is 2 guys for a bidding war.
IMO paying $44 for a non-auto, non-GU #/100 parallel (especially one from a lower-end set) is insane for anything but a superstar rookie. It will come up on ebay again - and again and again.
I come at this from the perspective of someone who is doing several parallel sets #/100, #/50, and #/25, as well as obsessively collecting numbered rookies and rookie parallels of one player.
