Sad but I have honestly NEVER heard that name in my life. This strikes me as very MINOR news and probably not worthy of a sports card and meorabilia forum.
Well said Swartz. Yes, the news of a young actress passing doesn't exactly belong in a sportscard forum, but it's also a helluva lot more important than baseball cards. It's life. You guys who are making light of it (hotmush, lostdart58, to a lesser extent larryallen73) should be ashamed of yourselves. Grow up.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
In 1965, speaking on how TV was going to influence the country, Johnny Carson said that Americans might one day be in an almost perpetual state of grief, due to the deaths of all the folks we felt like we knew.
Folks who post here are MUCH more than just the cards they collect. Discouraging them from commenting on the things they know/think/feel about a celebrity passing diminishes the board and deprives readers of an opportunity to note that their own feelings of sadness are totally normal and shared by their pals.
* 1.78 deaths per second * 107 deaths per minute * 6,390 deaths per hour * 153,000 deaths per day * 56.0 million deaths per year * 3.9 billion deaths per average lifetime (70 years)
I am name-challenged on lots of modern actors, too.
Lots of actors have face-ID. The combo of face/name-ID is really what ultimately makes an actor uber-famous.

A Look Back at Brittany Murphy's Best Roles
2009 has been a year of surprising, untimely celebrity deaths. Brittany Murphy's sudden death this morning is no different. Here, we take a look back at her very diverse roles throughout the troubled actress's extensive career.
"It wasn't her bare midriff, pouffy blonde bangs or dubious hairdressing talent that made Luanne Platter the lovable character she was for over a decade on 'King of the Hill.' It was that voice: part baby talk, part soft, somewhat Southwestern drawl, part simpleton and all Brittany Murphy."
Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
I havent followed her career at all. I knew she was in 8 mile with eminem and clueless (alicia silverstone).
But waaaaaaaaaaay too young. 32?!!? Any death under 35 is shocking. She looked like she could still be in college. What a horrible year for celeb deaths...

Man, this crowd is cold...I wasn't familiar with her work, but I certainly wouldn't make light of her death, either.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
<< <i>Is this sports related because she liked to service ball players? She died because she was a coke head. Oh wait, recreational drug use + ball players = barry bonds. ok, i see the connection. >>

If you don't want to see this type of thread it's very very easy to just not click on it...
Either way saying crap like that is very rude IMO she is not sports related but that does not mean you have to disrespect someone who has just passed..
I seen her in a few films which I thought she did a good job, It's too bad she's gone at such a young age.. Remember that's someones daughter... maybe mother or sister too I don't know but dumb A$$ comments like this blow me away...

LOTS of prescription meds. The whole family was taking meds for the flu.
She may or may not have been a druggie - I dunno - but I suspect we will find that was not the COD.

There are many factors associated with having an Eating Disorder that can lead to heart problems or a heart attack. Sudden cardiac arrest can cause permanent damage to the heart, or instant death.
Low Blood Pressure, Hypotension (more common in those with Anorexia and/or Bulimia) - caused by lowered body temperature, malnutrition and dehydration - can lead to heart arrhythmias, shock or myocardial infarction.
Electrolyte imbalances (especially potassium deficiency), dehydration, malnutrition, low blood pressure, extreme orthostatic hypotension, abnormally slow heart rate, and hormonal imbalances can all lead to serious heart problems.
Electrolytes are essential to the production of the body's "natural electricity" that ensures healthy teeth, joints and bones, nerve and muscle impulses, kidneys and heart, blood sugar levels and the delivery of oxygen to the cells.
