Who do we contact to get the option?

I have been looking to change mine. When I joined the Boards earlier this year, I just chose whatever icon to get going. As the months went by, I've found that one or more users have the same avatar (and probably before I did), which could cause confusion.

You need to click on your profile and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There will be an option to upload your own avatar. It's pretty straight foward.

It's usually on or around the 15th of every month. It's not there right now. Maybe tomorrow?

I have a few 2 ounce bottles of this whiskey that my grandmother gave me. They're over 40 years old, so they must be good.

I have to say, this is the most user-unfriendly message board I have ever been on. You can't use your own avatar, you can't see what posts you have posted in, you can't search only your posts, the quote feature is downright AWFUL and I'm sure there are other things I am omitting. It looks and feels like a board from the '90s early '00s.

In the upper right corner click on "today" and it will show you the last 15 or 20 threads you have posted in.

With regard to your other concerns, if that many things are disturbing you, then maybe this just isn't the place for you.

I'm just calling it like I see it. The place is very user-unfriendly. Maybe if they put a little effort into it, it would not be such a slow moving message board. When it often takes 5-10 minutes for anything to happen, there is a problem.

Oh, really. Replies like this really help your cause. I guess you are one of the many unfriendlies that frequent this board trying to run-off any outsider that doesn't have 40,000 posts. It's the definition of "old boys" club. I have just over 100 posts and have never felt welcome here. I'm sure you and the 15 other regulars would just love to have the board all to yourselves. lol

I definitely like a board that "moves". Waiting around for responses is no fun, kind of defeats the purpose of being on a message board. All I'm saying is, maybe there is a reason that it's like this. People like customization and user-friendly applications. When you can't even upload an avatar to bring a face to the poster in this day and age, that's pretty lame.

Eh, I can agree with this forum being very user- unfriendly. It would be awesome if you could search all of your posts, all of a users post within a thread (specifically the threads that are many pages), or some other things that seem to be standard on other forums.

It's a really good forum, and there are great people here, but some of those features would be nice.

I'm imagine you've already made up your mind about all of this, but for what it's worth, you're wrong about Nick. He's one of the many friendly and helpful folks who frequent these boards. You're also wrong about the regulars being unwelcoming to new members. For example, here's a guy who joined earlier this month and started a thread to introduce himself and received very welcoming responses from more than 30 members. And that's pretty typical. Stick around awhile, and I think you'll develop a better impression of the place.
