I believe this eBay win has the potential of being something kind of special

When I happened upon this Grant commemorative I knew it was something that could be very special.

<< <i>Just guessing; Proof or Prooflike? >>
There are no known Proofs, although NGC has designated two of the Grant/Star coins "specimen". And none have been designated PL either. The subject coin looks lustrous/flashy, but I don't see anything special about it, beyond that.
The name is LEE!

<< <i>I dunno ... it sold for basically an MS64 price, an it seems unlikely to make a 2-point jump, if that's what you're getting at ... but it is uncommonly lustrous and attractive, I'll give it that. These are usually kind of dull. >>
Exactly.
I have no problem paying a premium for coins like this.
I haven't seen one with this much luster.
Not looking to flip it (I know I'm a bit buried on the price) but I do know that in my collecting life, usually if a coin speaks to me it speaks to others down the road as well.

Here's my MS64 for comparison....
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Always wanted one that was original and flashy.
Thanks for your opinion guys.

I will lay it on the line :
such a coin is a prime target for an A.T. job .......
remove/cover the defects , overlay the super luster with a coating of fantastic rainbow color and get it in a NGC Star slab @ MS 66 or 67 ......
