At the most recent heritage auction (the december one)-
I purchased a relatively expensive coin and for some reason the coin doesnt look 100% right to me.
I tried the cert number in the pcgs database just for fun and get the message that no such cert exists!
oh boy!
may the fonz be with you...always...

This one sounds as if we might want to get some extra popcorn made image

Please update us after you find out what is going on... hope it's not an import image

I will be staying tuned to this posting! I only had one problem with Heritage previously and it was fixed so quickly. They have great customer service people.
  • Yes, I have had a coin that was not in the database. It was just a glitch, and was easily fixed.

Not saying your coin is the same situation, but it might be.

Interesting. I wonder what the odds are that it's just a PCGS clerical error in the database VS. a Chinese fake???

Keep us posted. At least on the plus side, if it's a worst case scenario I can't see any way you'd be on the hook,
since both PCGS and Heritage are top notch.

Try typing in the number from the PCGS graded Wells Fargo $20 gold pieces. I have one in 66 and when I keyed it in I got the dreaded "Not a Valid Number" Yikes! PCGS gave me a substitute number and all was well, but it nearly invoked a change in underwear. image

Don't panic. I just had -2- coins from my collection come up the same way. You will probably just need to email Customer Service a scan of the coin and, odds are, that will solve the problem. Wondercoin
