Bust Half Fever

Is this book like the Overton guide where the more recent edition isn't the best one?

I see there's a first edition and second edition of Bust Half Fever - which one should I try to purchase?

The second edition - it's got a lot more content.

Check out the Southern Gold Society

The second edition is probably the best, as Edgar added even more great information. The first edition is still great as well, although every thing in the first edition is presented in the second.

Unlike the Overton book, "Bust half Fever" is not all about attribution, but about all of the nuances of collecting Capped Bust Halves.

Go to Early United States Coins - to order the New "Early United States Half Dollar Vol. 1 / 1794-1807" book or the 1st new Bust Quarter book!

Yeah...it's not an attribution guide but more about the fun of collecting CBHs.

BUST HALF FEVER second edition is the first book anyone interested in Capped Bust Half Dollars should own. Buy the Overton attribution book later, if you indeed start to seriously collect by die marriage. If you only collect REDBOOK varieties, there is no need for the Overton book.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    Awesome book to have.

This was the first book I read and after reading it, I was hooked.

A great read, and I would go for the second edition.

Both editions are great, but I would suggest you buy the second edition because of expanded content.

Ed Souders is working on a new edition, is he not? I recall hearing some buzz in 2006 or maybe 2007.

I bet you will find yourself reading this book at least twice.
    Great work.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

I have a question for the others who have these two editions; did Ed personally sign all the books that were sold or only my books?

I would actually highly recommend the Overton 3rd book to *anyone*. How else will you know if you've hit the jackpot? image

On his website, it says "Get your signed copy for your numismatic library today!" so I assume he's signing all of them.
