I've settled in on my initial list of the Top 25 to start pursuing in 2010. I also decided to cut the list off at 2000. I'll come back in re-evaluate the list in 2015 and add in 5-10 cards from 2001-2010 (and perhaps earlier), with the end goal to have this be the Top 50... when I'm 50 in 2027

it's a good list, must have been tough picking only 25. Just wanted to say the line "when i'm 50 in 2027", sounds like part of a song. maybe you could write a song about putting the cards together.
<< <i>1980 Phil Sims ( I love warren Moon, but Simms trumps him) >>
I ran this thought through my mind several times when putting together my initial list, and it came down to 2 things:
1) Given the condition sensitive nature of the set, I wanted something in there from 1985... and Moon is the top RC in the set 2) Warren rocks the gold jacket, Phil does not (even though i wouldn't disagree that Simms trumps Moon) >>
Sims over Moon?....no way. Sims was a good quarterback on a team with a great defense. Moon was a great quarterback on a crappy team.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I'm quite surprised that a few names haven't been mentioned and that one seems to be an afterthought...
1980 Topps Lester Hayes (the man who made Stick-um illegal and who made man-to-man coverage an art form) 1996 UD SP Marvin Harrison (perhaps the #2 WR behind Jerry Rice in the last quarter decade) 1999 Pacific Kurt Warner (with all the talk about Simms and Big Ben, Warner deserves consideration despite an up and down career) 2001 Topps Chrome LaDanian Tomlinson (absoultely the most dominating RB since Sanders/Smith)
1994 UD SP Marshall Faulk (definitely more deserving than Eric Dickerson, or Marcus Allen)

The only problem I have here is with Ladainian Tomlinson, sure he has been great during his prime regular season games but a complete waste when it counts IE Playoffs, he has hardly been there when his team needed him the most.
