Is a strikethrough a planchet flaw?

I was just reviewing some grades... I sent in an ex NGC64 28-S SLQ that had a reverse strikethrough on it... probably a small piece of wire.
What did it get graded? Genuine - 93 - Planchet Flaw.
What the ?????? PLANCHET FLAW?????

NGC MS64 to PCGS G.O. Wow
Sorry to hear that. Hope it will not be sad for too long.
I can accept that they dont want any errors in normal holders if that's the case. But I can't see how a strikethrough is a planchet flaw..... makes no sense to me.
<< <i>I remember that SLQ and thought it had a small reverse lamination.

Yeah tell me about it! It is a strikethrough, you'd have to see it in hand though. Jay Cline saw it, and Steve Sabatino sold me the coin.
It's neat, it has a small reverse cud too... the small one inside the rim to the SW of the "E" in Quarter. I have like 2 or 3 slabbed ones with that cud, but this one has a strikethrough as well
<< <i>I had the same thing happen to one of my last submissions to PCGS, I sent in a 1941 DDO Lincoln in AU with a struck-through area on the reverse. I even put a note on the flip that the coin was as struck and not damaged. Didn't matter, it came back in a bodybag with the same reason (Planchet Flaw) on the label. All I can figure is that PCGS wants coins in their problem-free holders to be just that - problem free, whether the issue occurred before, during or after the strike.

I guess clips are now out of the question??
BTW, I just recently submitted a 1973 IKE with as a strike through Mint Error. If it bags, I'm gonna really whine!
