Bought this 1802 large cent and after looking at it upon its arrival it looks like its the 1/000 variety but cant be sure. Can anyone tell me if it is?

Sure looks like it to me. Is there a significant premium for that variety?

Although not slabbed so not a perfect example, but, PCGS guide in G4 for normal cent is $68. 1/000 is 300

Sure looks like 1/000 to me. It's worth a good premium, but you won't get a big premium price for this example because the error fraction is not clear. Collectors want coins with bold error features if they're going to pay full price. For example, would you pay full price for a 1955 doubled-die Lincoln cent if it had a weakly struck date so one could barely see the doubling?
  • Just based on the picture, I am pretty sure its 1/000. Really nice looking old cent.

You got it, nice score. A bit rough but it is what you think it is.
  • S-228. It's only an R-2, so not a huge score. I'd value it between $50 and $100.

Melikey! Even if the 000 is blunted by strike weakness. Nice surfaces overall. Plenty of character.
