Does anyone collect racks with stars on top?

If so, is it just one particular player, or just any "stars-on-top" racks that you can find?

I've got a few Ryan Racks (nothing great, just 80's stuff), and I'm thinking about starting to trying to collect one from every year I can find.

I collect Perez on top of cello or rack when I find them, few poor scans of some of my favorites

I collect racks/cellos with the hometown teams on the fronts- Ideally a team card of Minnesota Teams. For some reason, I also like checklists on tops. Star racks are nice, but out of my league in many cases, and have higher possibiilities of being manufactured. (my detective skills are still a work in progress)

I've got a small stash of racks and cellos from '82 thru '90. My favorite one is an '84 FB cello with Marino's first card on the back and Franco Harris' last card on the front:

Otherwise I saved mainly any stars I could find and MN Twins players. I've got one Billy Ripken and another with an All Star Glossy type card of Cal Ripken -- I just looked at them but don't remember the years/brand. I didn't see any Tony Perez cards on top...

Those are some great Ripken packs! I really wish there were better ways to store / protect rack packs. I'm currently using comic book bags & boards for mine.

uh yeah got a few...starting to scan all of mine. I'll post some pics as I go along. Started collecting star racks and cellos in about 1986. Got just about every BB HOF rack or cello on top. Back then no one was really buying them

I have a '77 Topps Wax Pack with Ryan on the back (PSA 7), and a '79 Topps Rack with Seaver and Dave Parker on the front. I'm wanting to collect some higher end stuff when I get the means to do so.

its not worth much.. but got a rack pack with don mattingly on the top from 84-90 topps for a buddy who collects yankees.. i remember packs with stars on the top used to pull a huge premium.. but not they don't seem to that expensive.. vintage packs.. yes.. but anything form the 80s.. even with rookies on top don't seem to sell for that much. I remember when 89 hoops packs with robinson on top would sell for 100 bucks.. i think these are cool collectables since most of the cards from that erra are a dime a dozen.. having them on the top of a rack is atleast a quarter a dozen..

I have just a few. One is a 1985 Topps Football cello pack with Manino record breaker on top and a Marino regular card on bottom. Also have a 1989 Fleer basketball rack with Jordan on top.

Back in the day I had several 1984 Football cellos with Elway and Marino on top. Sold them at card shows several years ago.

Wish I knew how to upload pictures here, but I've got a sweet 76 baseball rack with Reggie Jackson and Carlton Fisk on top, and Hank Aaron's regular card on the back. The most "star" heavy rack I own.

Does anyone collect racks with stars on top?
