  PS: The coupon is going only to buyers as an appeasement since many sellers are cancelling deals.

  What about sellers who lost bids and income because of the search glitch? Do they get any compensation? Or, as usual with Fleabay, is it all about the buyer?

  No, but they can cancel the deal and eBay will remove any negative feedback or low DSR's that result from that cancellation.

  I bid on stuff that night and lost... I also tried to search for coins and couldn't... but no coupon for me.
  
  The buyers who managed to rip items that night and get great deals get a 10% coupon for their "troubles" makes sense to me!!

  I'd like to think they'd allow a seller to relist without another fee, but this is eBay, so what do I know?
