Was at the bank today.......

standing behind a senior. he was turning in $250 in halves that evidentally
they play poker with every friday night, then turn them in on monday. I am at the bank 2-3
times a day getting change, and deposits, and the tellers always know to give me "hand rolled"
rolls ( and crispy bills only
) and asked if i wanted them. I already had my deposit done and only had $150 left
in the pocket. She took the $150 and said look at em all and bring em back. Not 1 silver coin, not even a

yeh, im on it...its good to have the "in" with the tellers
I guess it was a good idea gone bad on my part.

So.......quit looking then report back here in 6 months about all that you have NOT found.
BTW, as a Kennedy Variety collector, I cannot help but wonder how many nice copper-nickel clad varieties you simply passed over because they were not silver?
Some of these varieties would bring w-a-a-y over silver melt.

<< <i>I am a regular at my bank but I never ask for anything, just go in and do my business. I have a business account and several personal accounts and all the tellers and staff know me. Last week I went in and asked if they could order me a $500 face box of half dollars as I thought they would be neat to spread around during the holidays. I got a very curt "we have to order $1000 at a time and we are not willing to get stuck with the other $500". I was sort of shocked as I've never been talked down to like that in the bank. I think they are tired of dealing with half dollars in general.
I guess it was a good idea gone bad on my part.

Cliff you should have just gone ahead and ordered the $1,000 worth. $500 this week, $500 the next.
I've done that with multiple thousand dollar orders as its always a win/win scenario since I always find interesting coins whether they are silver or not.

Man, this was unexpected, and she fronted me the xtra $100, so i kinda had to scramble and go thru em real quick,....
I had to get out of work, and do some stuff... i know, i know, i know.................
On a lark I pulled through drive-thru and asked for halves.
Got $390 and found 56 of the 40% ones.
Later that day I went to another small bank and spent 10 minutes while they went in vault and brought out $190..............
Zero, nada, zilch............just goes to show you.......you never know.
