Colorful Jeffersons

Getting some coins together for a submission and noticed this proof Jeff had some nice color. Don't have an acceptable obverse image yet but here's the reverse:

Still in the Mint plastic

Let's see some colorful Jeffersons.

I was happy this one crossed into PCGS plastic:

I agree that the PCGS Gennie holder looks better than the "Danger! Alert!" old PCI holder. You'd think it was Hazmat or something. Then again, a coin that flourescent might be emitting gamma rays! image

on the AT '45-S it really matters little what holder it's in. any doubt that it was Genuine was ludicrous and any belief that it was NT was even moreso. it looks like an extreme example of the "Appalacian Whored" coins from several years ago.

    I think you meant 'Hoard'
  • keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
no, i meant Whored(sic) which is the best descriptive term for that blatantly AT group of Silver Jefferson Nickels, the way they were brought into the market, the way that the major TPG's were duped and then the way they were bought up because too many collectors thought they were legitimate.

that should clear up any misgivings about my ineptitude with spelling!!image

I really enjoy toned Jeffersons too.

And the late date ones are tough to find with attractive toning.

This '57p is fresh back from pcgs and has some legit toning from an aftermarket cardboard holder. image

and the strike is very nice as it just missed being Full steps.

Yeah, late date ones are tough. The 57's in the preceding threads are pretty great.

    Here's one I like --

I really like when Jeffersons get the lighter pastel colors like idhair's 1940.

This coin has light pastel toning but you wouldn't know it from the picture. Stunning eye apeal.
