Peace Dollar Help Needed VAM1N

I found this 1922-D Peace Dollar mixed in a lot of coins I purchased a year or so ago it's definitely a VAM 1N you can see the die crack through the N with the naked eye however it has a deep mirror like polished finish I'm assuming someone took a buffer or something to it at some point in time is that a correct assumption? Can anyone confirm from the photos or give their opinion on what's going on I appreciate you comments.
