Teletrade's improved images .....

I think credit is due and deserved by the folks @ Teletrade for their efforts to make their pix more true to life ;

I have seen with my own eye's significant improvements in the quality and clarity of the images .

I use a Mac with the latest Snow Leopard OS. There seems to be no way I can get what I need to see the DjVu pictures. I tried three different browser, all with no luck.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

I just looked and didn't really see any difference. What am I missing?

    +1

They look the same to me, but I think the OP is refering to the quality of teletrades images years ago compared to now.
    "It is what it is."
  • Mozin, Have you tried www.opera.com? I could not upload my avatar on the 15th of the month until someone suggested it. I run an IMac with intel and Safari. PQ
  • A few weeks back I ran into some pictures on Teletrade that gave a much better zoom ratio. It was only featured on a few coins, but it was quite an improvement. I have not seen any pictures like those since then.

idk, maybe this is what the OP was refering too.

I've noticed that they moved the lighting on the nickels to 6 O'Clock. What did they do, hire the guy from Heritage? And I've also learned from these boards that Mowers and Merena bought them out. Could explain the bad photography.
No improvement here. It only got worse.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

  • Teletrade's pictures are fine. Stop ya bellyachin!

  • TTR has some of the best pics in the biz.
  • ...........although across the board there is not uniform improvement , but a significent improvement in many color coins can be confirmed .

I am getting coins from T.T that look exactly in hand as they do in the auction images ; this was not the case in the past the majority of the time .

Many a time i bid on a coin without the slightest idea of what it looked like in hand , sometimes finding it matched the image well while other

times it looked little if anything like their pix.

This i'm sure did little to induce robust bidding . As they become more consistant it can only improve bidder confidence .

They are trying harder and deserve to be commended for it . There is still room for improvement : uniform lighting should be implemented , two slabs of same

coins can look totally different , lot 250 followed by lot 251 for example ( of the same denomination, date and mintmark-both untoned . brilliant coins)

, should have images that have the same contrast , lightness and clarity. Much of the time this is not the case and that should not be .
