Is ANACS going back to the blue insert?

I got a submission back from ANACS yesterday and one coin had the yellow insert and the other had the old blue insert. Has anyone else seen the blue insert on recent submissions?

I just don't get all the energy spent on things like holders or FS. The coin is all that matters unless you collect holders IMO.
Daniel Carr had used a special silver colored label with ANACS for his issues. It is also very pretty.
My personal opinion is that ANACS would be best using a nice light green colored paper for their labels.
I will never ever accept the yellow paper ones and have told ANACS that to their face each time. It is more like a puke color.
<< <i>The blue labels are only supposed to be used for coins that were sent in for reholdering and that were originally slabbed during the previous ownership. >>
That makes sense because the '51-S was in a small white holder and the '61 proof had the yellow label before being reholdered.
Thanks for clearing that up!

Did it ever occur to you that there is a coin inside the holder, and it looks the same regardless of the color of the label?

Indeed there is a coin inside the holder but my brain can't handle the yellow color while looking at the coin. I have to cover it up each time. Exhausting work each time.
Remember yellow is a low level alert color. It is a warning color. Wrong color to use.
Remember;
green is go
yellow is warning/caution
red is stop
blue is a soothing color not always in vogue.
Next, I would offer a guarentee that the coin would cross at the same grade or higher at another TPG. If it did not cross, I would pay the difference in price from the grade assigned to the grade it crossed at.
Lastly, I would hold my graders accountable for their work. I would have periodic reviews of coins that were graded under these new standards. If my graders were not consistent then I would simply look for new graders.
These changes would cost the company money up front, but in the long run would establish credibillity with collectors and dealers.

That would give PCGS and NGC great reason to not cross the coins for a while so they can drive you to bankruptcy.

I can't say I've ever had a problem looking at the label instead of the coin. Maybe I would if the slab were solid black...

True, but if the crossing was done by Anacs under an alias or several aliases, and sent in raw, that would negate this problem.

What is white.
Hoard the keys.
Hey Tom,
The gold label is used for coins that are submitted raw or for reholders that were originally graded after January 1st 2008. Your friend must have submitted a coin that had been graded by us prior to that date. When this occurs, the label used is the blue one. This indicates that the coin was originally graded prior the purchase of the company by the new owner.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

ANACS
So the above response from Paul was quick which I appreciated. Still I don't think they gave any thought as to how the collectors using anacs would like this color change. I personally do not like the pumpkin color, but others may. Owner change crossover date of 1-1-2008 could have been accomplished by keeping the blue insert and making some other subtle change on the holder insert or perhaps the reverse hologram. So, now we know why anyway

<< <i>I just emailed anacs and asked this question, is insert now blue or pumpkin. I personally thought the pumpkin colored insert was hideous. Not only did Mr. Taylor ruin anacs and icg in my opinion, but this last change of color insert to pumpkin from the light and dark blues they originally used with their current large holder left me a bit baffled. It is almost as if they are trying to discourage people from trying their service. Imagine having a large accumulation of the new large anacs holders with the blue inserts and then getting your first submission returned with this ugly pumpkin colored POS. It would be a positive step to go back to the blue inserts. But then you probably have a few people who like da pumpkins and then they would be mad. So in a way anacs cannot win. Bethca before long the reintroduce the small slab that they had a few years ago. It was a unique product and many many collectors liked it. I think anacs is a trainwreck on a oneway trip to the bottom. They will probaly offer the blue insert as an option for five dollars. And then can offer the small slab as an option too. They are probably half way their -- to the dust bin of history that is. buffnixx >>
sadly you are corect in your observations. I use to prefer ANACS and still like to buy the small holders. Taylor sunk ANACS.

This is not something anyone can guarantee. You would be nuts to do so. Every coin is different and each person looking at the coin might have a different opinion. Doing it your way would purposely make ANACS undergrade coins only so they would not have to pay out in case PCGS or NGC differed in opinions. That would sink your business even more.
