Being an admirer of beautifully toned dimes, I'd like to see the collections of Onlyroosies, LabLover, and ColorfulCoins.

Actually, I'd like to see anyone's collection if they have a good eye, passion, and focus. And many around here do.

I think most people would wet themselves if they had a chance to see Gregg Bingham's aka monsterman's collection laid out.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Gene's coins by a mile, especially his seated stuff. Dunno if he comes here or not. Hands down the finest group of seated quarters ever assembled, quality wise.

Edited to add, forgot the dimes... and halves. Read the notes on his half dollars, the great collections some of them came from, and who supplied him the coins, it's a veritable who's who of some of the best eyes in the business today. I never tire of reading his notes and looking at the fabulous pictures of these coins. To see them in person would be truly amazing, to me at least.

  • Thanks for all the mentions ... it was a great pleasure to exhibit the Morgans at 2009 FUN and February 2009 Long Beach, so that more collectors could get to see them. I would encourage more owners of great sets & collections to share them via public exhibit.

I believe Dale Friend's fabulous early halves will be displayed by PCGS at 2010 FUN, and I will look forward to that !!

There are many wonderful sets owned by members here, that I would very much enjoy seeing.

As for the Pogues, I can only say that their actual holdings are shockingly more and better than even most of us are aware of !! We can only hope that someday, they will publish full color-plated books of the collection, or better yet, build a serious museum to house it, or loan it to the Smithsonian (unlikely, but a nice idea, right?)

Congrats to all members here for the great sets that they have built !!!

So what is the background or history on the Pogues collection? Before this thread I had never heard of it.

Bongo, he sounded like he had an interesting circulated collection.
