If you have a prettier Proof Roosie I'd like to see it!!!

That's right, post them if you got them.....Toned or Deep Cameo...whatever you have that's stunning post it here as I think the Proof Roosie I just got is one of the nicest I have ever seen. What a bear to image too.....so much light shooting back into the camera lens I had to try three different techniques including Diffused and Axial lighting to even get close to what it looks like in hand, which is why I posted some many images from different angles and different lighting angles image

If you have a monster MS coin....what the heck you can't post that as well image

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Shane.
Let me add that yours is a beaut.
This one is a strong CAM or DCAM that is hard to really see through the strong red/brown/green toning...although my pics DO NOT show the color.

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • Great toning sold this about a week ago for me. Pictures are not altered.

  • I had and still have several 61's that are nicely toned, the 57 you have is a boomer image

  • I would never state that the pictures aren't altered becuase they absolutely are...even mine were altered a bit becuase these proofs are so difficult to image. What was done to the image of your coin was that the brightness was adjusted to get the color to show which is why the brown NGC label is completly white. I can take one of my images and do the same thing just to show you what the label will look like with the adjustment? Great toning probably struggled to capture the color like the rest of us and I am sure if you asked him he would even admit he had to make adjustments so that the coin picture resembeled the coin in hand image

I saw several of your coins in hand at the baltimore show, I can attest that all the coins you showed me looked better in hand then the images. You had some pretty tough coins to image but as good as the images looked the coins looked even better image

I completely understand that.....after taking about 150 images of this coin I wasn't happen with any so I had to tweek the color and the images still came out a bit dark so I know what it take sometime to get the right shot....I just hate having to do it image Maybe one day my technique for proofs will be good enough that the pictures will stand on their own merit although I believe the multitude of shots I posted gives a pretty good idea of what the coin looks like at most angles.

Do you have any MS toners?
  • yes i have two AMAZING completed sets that are raw that ive been collecting for the past couple of years. some real monsters in there too, some 67s and possible 68s in there as well image I am working on my third set right now.
  • Here are a couple I used to own. And they had some heavy cameo too boot!! image

seriously, i still do not have a good pic of the roosie that was the
subject of my 1st thread on this forum.
...that being on the reverse of a `99 silver proof roosie with
golden olive leaves on the left side of the design.
the explanation for the anomoly was an `improper alloy mix`

As somebody who's generally bored by Roosies, and therefore has no horse in this particular race, I have to proclaim new guy deltadimeman's 1974-S the winner, and the prettiest of all posted so far, at least to my eyes.

Mind you, the coin in the OP is indeed quite attractive. The spot at 3:00 is a little bit distracting to me, but I do think it's a nice coin and am a little surprised it doesn't have a star label. There are plenty of nice Roosies here.
