Collector's Club

Cancelled my membership in June. Just called to sign up again at the Silver Level and found out that PCGS Management has blocked my account and I can't join without upper management approval. Told the Customer Service Rep "No Thanks". It's been fun and I'll see ya on other Coin Forums.

    Wow, now that's really strange!
I'd like to hear what Management's reason was for the blockage?

I've allowed my membership to expire and signed up again with no problem.

Make that phone call. Something is weird.

Well, I hope the situation is something simple that can be worked through easily.

There has got to be some sort of misunderstanding here Lee.

    It would seem appropriate

for Lee to learn the specific

    reason behind such a denial.

This is a collector, that I would

    deem most worthy of membership.

.....wonder if it has to do with someone's job....?
(I don't think that is a valid reason, particularly at that level, but I do wonder)

As derryb pointed out, the OP said he cancelled his membership. Maybe the system automatically flags anyone who cancels and then tries to rejoin in the next 12 months. Does PCGS pro-rate refunds of unused membership?

I simply do not understand why soemone would not want to find out what is going on here?

But then, if someone is that disatisfied with PCGS, perhaps participation on some other forums is whats needed.

Personally, I find the other forums a little dead. Same subject matter with the whines, complaints, and concerns couples withsome nice informative posts.........but dead. I also find their response times (network wise) to be equally dead which is why I visit but never stay long term.

I'm too afraid I might pass away at my keyboard waiting for the screen to refresh!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I was kind of wondering if the tab was left open when he left the bar too.

Come on Lee... you need to stick around some how. Give 'em a call. Besides... the other forum is way too slow to load pages.
  • That's very odd. I let my membership expire in August and did not renew until around a month or so later. I'll be honest here and say that I had to really ask myself if I wanted to renew. I decided to, at the silver level. Although I guess the Collector's Club is alright, I would hope that the upper management would not require me to have to come to them to renew if I didn't renew my membership right away. I mean, as long as I were not obnoixous, rude, or something of that sort, I would not think I would need such approval if I let my membership expire and then decide to renew at a later time. If such were to be a requirement, I would have to "fold my tent" and move on.

I hope there was some kind of unintended error here for Lee's sake. Just my two cents worth.

  • This makes no sense; therefore, must be some glitch in the system. Think about it, if you owned a business whose main source of income was grading coins for people and as a courtesy provide a forum for people to exchange ideas the last thing you would do is block someone from the first aspect , but allow continued participation in the second. You would cut of the voice of the trouble maker, but you would allow him to still send you money right.
If things slowly escalate as they tend to do and it got to the point you did not want his money any more you would certainly revoke the privilege at the same time, right? JMHOimage

    All over ad-blocking, eh?

    Hm.

[edit] For the record, I do not block ads. It's hard enough to keep my browser operational, so I keep a stock installation with no changes. And I submit that some websites I get useful information from support themselves with ad revenue. Why damage that revenue flow?

Lee, I hope you will come back to posting here. I really enjoy the Commemorative posts, and I don't have time to go across the street or other coin boards. Your posts are very fun to read and educational. I hope that a solution can be worked out.
