What happened to this Large Cent?

I recently bought a large cent. The reverse looks like sections of the field are lower than the rest. Is this likely from problems associated with the die or planchet, or is it more likely to be post mint damage. I know the photos aren't the best, but it does give an idea. The darker sections on the reverse seem lower than the rest of the field.

Oh Thanks Broadstruck, now you tell me these are very common, I swear I just bought this last night. I do like little white slabs tho.

Thanks. I searched for die clash images, and my coin's reverse does resemble what is going on with this other coin at:

Parts of the reverse seem lower than others, with a darker color, devices seem about the same.
