    Here is a 1955 PCGS MS-65RD Doubled-Die cent.

I bought this cent in 1997 and when my wife (who was born in 1955) had her birthday less than a year later, I came home having forgotten her birthday and suddenly remembered having this cent in my safe so I "lovingly" gave this 1955 DDO cent for her birthday so that I could avoid the dreaded D in marriages!

Post your double die so I can believe that I don't SEE double. image >>

Now I don't feel so bad AND I know why I like you... my BD is coming up on Sat the 14th and I also turn...in my case, into a double nickel...

gonna celebrate by going to Baltimore...submitting 36 coins (36 AKA Double Chai image ) and then to see if I can get some good deals on some nickels...instead of 1/2 price, with my luck, the dealers will all want to charge me double image

    BTW... Happy Birthday!!! image >>

Wow many of us turned 55 in 1954. Mine was in February. Happy birthday Jay. And in case anyone is wondering why I am up at this time, I see the Endodontist at 8 AM to hopefully fix this toothache of the past 5 days that is keeping me awake. Oh the joy!

Then off to Baltimore for something a bit more fun!

    Great posts...thanks all of you.

I hate goddam birthdays. You start to hurt more every year and then you die. End of story, I'm closer to dying every day. in fact, the day we're born we begin to die. image

    Happy days, all. image

That's funny, I always viewed you as a "planchet defect" (with, of course, the warmest possible connotation) rather than a "double die". image

    Happy B-Day Jay!

My dad hasn't even turned the 55 yet, but it's coming soon!

When I told the young lady at the store that I saw something on YouTube, she called over to the girl making sandwiches and said " Jerry knows about Youtube," I told her I hoped I could manage the steps without my walker.image

I had posted a link for a Gettysburg 75th anniversary, "the last great meeting of the Blue and the Grey, lots of great pics of the old Vets".
Millie posted a "thank you" but said she "couldn't find me there."

You know things are getting really bad when you bend over to tie your shoes, and start to think about what else you can get done while you're down there. image
