Seriously, how does eBay seller Maxxblue1 still have an account?

Last year I encountered major issues with this seller and gave him his first negative and neutral feedbacks (which he begged me not to) for two hockey card auctions. I looked at his account last night, for the heck of it, and was floored at what I saw....

WOW how did the guy get away with this for so long and why does he still even have an account!?

This would protect future buyers while giving ebay time to investigate the nature of the two negatives.
If ebay determines there was no foul play on behalf of the seller then they could immediately reopen the seller account.
If I was in charge of ebay I would institute a series of computer generated protections geared toward protecting the buyers while inconveniencing sellers as little as possible.
It is great that Mullins brought this seller to our attention. After more than 30 days of continuous negatives ebay has still failed to act to protect future buyers--an absolute disgrace on ebay's part!!!

this is a really really good idea, if a seller gets 2-3 back to back, or back to back to back neg's, from different buyers, their account should be froze and looked into.

close down my accounts by leaving two bogus NEGs.
Buyers currently have all the protection they need on EBAY.
Sellers have ZERO protection.

All ebay would have to do is simply phone the 2 buyers and then make a decision.
If they see a guy not delivering gold coins valued in the 1000.00's and 2 different buyers leave negatives
then maybe just maybe they could err on the side of caution?
I agree 2 bogus negs should not be reason for a seller to be naru'd.
In any event ebay has become worse then yahoo auctions ever were.
The other day I tried to list an item with FREE shipping and had to fill out what type of package it would be
the weight bla bla bla.

Since most longtime sellers have a huge list of sleeper accounts,
folks like myself and my competitors would have a picnic closing
each other down.
It is almost impossible for a buyer to suffer a big loss on EBAY.
A wrongfully issued Delivery Confirmation ticket is really the only
risk a buyer has. Absent that, some inconvenience and a few dollars
in wasted return-shipping costs is the buyer's maximum exposure.
Criminals masquerading as buyers are currently the number ONE
threat to the future viability of EBAY. PayPal has defanged all of
the crooked sellers; and, run off THOUSANDS of good sellers in
the process.
SURELY in this computer age ebay can come up with some computer generated safety net to stop such a seller in his tracks and prevent all the stress and aggravation being experienced by these buyers.

If such buyers want to avoid stress/aggravation, they should
be buying their gold coins from a REAL coin business; not from
from a baseball-card seller on EBAY.
They should also consider that the low-prices for gold coins they
see on EBAY indicate that "something is not right."

I agree one should buy his gold from a reputable company.
And not from some 'Johnny' on ebay.

The premium on the coins has stayed constant or risen.
Most large/legit stores will pay about spot to sophisticated
walkins.
Subtract the EBAY/PayPal fees and it is obvious that the
seller would lose money. There simply is no money to be
made by selling gold cheap on EBAY.

exactly.
Subtract the EBAY/PayPal fees and it is obvious that the
seller would lose money. There simply is no money to be
made by selling gold cheap on EBAY.

Storm my point was I'm not so sure this seller sold gold cheap on ebay.
From what I saw he was getting spot plus for generic gold.
Now if he was getting 80% of spot then I'd agree the buyers were trying to get over. And possibly got what they deserved.
But from what I saw that was not the case. These coins the guy was selling did not have numismatic value
Just generic gold which generally sells for spot plus 5% to 10%
If he was to sell it himself to a dealer he would get less then what he was selling it for on ebay.
10 to 15% back of spot.
Just now auction 110452832248 ended at 1, 186.00 for a 1 oz maple leaf. Our friend was getting 1050.00 on Sept 12 (date of one of his auctions)
Gold today is around 1, 100.00 so the legit seller made 86.00 + 18.00 to ship it (I agree not much money but we have no idea how much the seller has into the coin either)
Gold on Sept 12th was at 960.00 I believe, so this scammer would have made (if he had the coins) 80.00 plus shipping.
The buyers of Gold on ebay always pay spot plus 5% to 10%
My point was and still is the buyers that were scammed were not trying to rip the scam seller off. They were not trying to get 1000.00 gold for 400.00
And should have known better.
AS for the paypal and ebay fees if a person has 400.00 into the OZ that he sells for 1000.00 he has more then enough room
to sell.

Looks like SPOT was between $1000+/- and $1050 during many
of the bad sales.
The seller spends about $100.00 on EBAY and PayPal fees.
The math does not work for a legit seller. He does better
selling to a large coin store. He can get SPOT, even in medium-size
cities. The BIG guys will pay him a tad more.
Granted, thieves like myself will not pay SPOT, but bluemax has lots
of guys in his neighborhood who will.

On the retail buy side, a 10% or better premium is pretty prevalent currently.
Does not mean it cannot be had for less, but 10% is about right for retail.

It was my opinion that they were NOT seeing low prices from this guy but average prices
for Gold when they tried to buy it. The sales took place from August 15th and Sept 19th from what I saw.
Gold at that time was not 1000.00 to 1,100.00 an OZ if my memory is correct.
I can't blame the buyers for being greedy here only the seller who tried to scam them.

That is about the right retail price tonight.
The problem with doing it on EBAY is that the
seller does not get the retail premium; EBAY/PayPal
take that premium.
Thus, the seller might as well dump the stuff to a big
buyer. MANY will pay in cash.
